I understand that....

But I'm finding it really tiresome to see a plethora of comments on this thread in particular complaining about poor crowds. Of course you're going to have poor crowds when you start a match at 9am on a Monday morning when most Trinis with money to spend are at work earning it!

And as it turned out, even though the WI-India match was the curtain-raiser in the 20/20 double-header on Saturday, starting at 10am, the crowd was decent. Imagine what the crowd would've been like if they'd actually scheduled the timings of this match with spectators in mind, and not with television audiences in mind....

The crowd for this match is actually decent. And like a commentator pointed out, it started quite thin but has gotten much bigger so I don't think its unreasonable to suggest the early start did effect crowd attendance

Even the 20/20 match was held at 10am, which was ridiculous. Normally, in the Caribbean, that 20/20 would've been held at 2pm, but it was done to accommodate Indian viewers. So, we had the farcical situation where India vs WIndies was the curtain-raiser, and Trinidad vs WIndies academy was the feature match....

whats the whole purpose in rebelling against that unless u want to be branded a rebel without a cause? 1 hour diff is hardly going to fill up the stadia, but it can mean an additional million viewers here in the east, which would inevitably trickle down as a few additional tens of thousands of dollars for wicb. its a clear win win afaic.

I wouldnt have minded one match being a day nighter though, but dunno whether that wud guarantee a capacity match.

Half an hour hardly makes any difference tbh.

nah, its a saturday. I thnk a holiday so the timing ideally shudnt affect the public who is really into cricket..

these are silly and trivial factors to have a moan. if u r seriously suggesting a few hours diff would've magically converted a sparsely filled in stadium into a fully filled one, sry am not going to buy that.

just another anti bcci rant imho.

Dead set that was **** to watch. Normally I can get through an uninteresting innings in a ODI but I struggled with that.

Pitch doesnlt look magnificent for cricket. Hopefully our young batting lineup can do well and win this comfortably.

Not sure I'll ever be sold on Dhawan. Happy for him to get a go I guess, but it's almost as if he's gotten worse since when he first came on the scene circa 2008/09.

Why is Parthiv opening? Honestly, what is the purpose? He offers neither consistency, nor a quick start. Best case scenario is a sedate 50.

because apparently a keeper who can open gives it a better balance?

personally not at all sold with that. if he can bat at 3 surely kohli can open as well? and make parthiv bat in the middle.
