When WI crowds can't be bothered to turn up at the ground, you might as well hold the match at a time that makes it convenient for Indian TV viewers. Can't say I have much sympathy with them here.

Could have honestly played all 3 of Harbhajan,Mishra and Ashwin on this pitch against the West Indies who are suspect at playing Spin.

Would be a risk, but Ashwin has quite a bit of experience with the new white ball. Or are you suggesting five bowlers?

The WICB are so spineless, to bow to the demands of the BCCI on every level. I hope we're not going to hear Indian players and the BCCI complaining about the standard of umpiring in this match, now....

Low turnout in the West Indies grounds is not exactly a recent phenomenon. Remember the 2007 WC? That had nothing to do with the BCCI.

It would have been negotiated between the broadcaster Ten Cricket/Sports and the WICB when the Broadcast contract would have been signed.

And BCCI does not own the private sports channel.

Besides wasn't the Pakistan series also held at about the same time?

Sometimes even earlier than 9 in the northern parts during Winter when the Sun goes down early in the evenings.

Is this the slowest attack put on the field in recent times in an ODI? Munaf's effort ball is 135 kph, and Praveen has never exceeded 130 kph, I dont think.

am failry sure this is perhaps the most profitable tour wi have had in a few years, so a one hour early start shudnt be anything more than a minor irritation. also a cricket loving guy wud turn up reg of whether its 9 or 10. heck here, we have to show up atleast 4 hours before the match, which puts it at just half past first snooze.

Not one of the Pakistan ODIs were held at 9am....

This is being done solely for Indian TV.

Even the 20/20 match was held at 10am, which was ridiculous. Normally, in the Caribbean, that 20/20 would've been held at 2pm, but it was done to accommodate Indian viewers. So, we had the farcical situation where India vs WIndies was the curtain-raiser, and Trinidad vs WIndies academy was the feature match....
