That's irrelevant, if you take a stupid decision that vastly increases the chances of such a balls-up occuring, you can't complain and expect anything other than laughter from the rest of the world.

Not if YOU were the one who made their job infinitely more difficult.

Dhoni's just pulled the cricketing equivalent of stealing a policeman's bike, then publicly criticising him for not being fast enough to catch a mugger.

Except in this incidence it was Dhoni who got mugged. Which makes it hilarious.

How many ICC officials does it take to change a light bulb?

It definitely seems to be more than two

Not really, because if the bike didn't exist, the policeman would still be criticised for not catching the mugger. Removing the UDRS didn't make his job infinitely more difficult than it has been for the rest of his umpiring career.

As for the analogy, my version would be that the Indian police force refused to buy their policemen bikes, and when Dhoni got raped and the rapists ran off, they blamed the policemen, even though they knew prior to the rape that their policemen were incompetent fat ****s.

So I hear.
Firstly, I'm pretty reluctant to just take Cevno's word on that, but let's say we do - all that shows is that it's still possible to occur with ICC officials present; not that they don't decrease the likelihood of it.

ICC officials may not be 100% effective, but ICC officials > no ICC officials.

Reminds me of something.... :p

Don't know why Sammy ever tries to bat normally. Going to do his team a lot more good by batting to the best of his ability, and that means to slog. You useless hulk of a player.
