Another last over thriller. Jeez what a series.

Sarwan looking impressive. What a ODI batsman, terrific player.

Now our "new-look" one-day side will face a stern test as India will have to win two in a row. I'm still confident that they can do it. Sehwag, Kaif and Raina have shown some form, Dravid and Yuvraj are top-class ODI batsmen at the moment and Dhoni and Pathan are both due for runs after failing in the first three matches. Our bowling attack is back to full-strength again. Again, this assumes that Yuvraj will return fit.

Sources indicate that Ajit Agarkar could find a place in the test squad. :-O
Regardless of whether it seems to be a backward move, I don't see how you can NOT give him a place. He's been effective and so far the best Indian seamer in West Indies. I would rather keep him in the squad than later regret not having him available when the likes of Pathan, Munaf n co are unable to get wickets.

At the moment, AA is not bowling like the AA we know - he's bowling with consistency, good pace and controlled swing. With RP Singh out of form and the fourth seamer unlikely to see any action, I don't mind Agarkar getting selected because it'll allow RP Singh to prepare for the more important (for him) A tour in Australia. I think the selectors are also announcing the squad for the A tour today. These look good to me.

India
V Sehwag, W Jaffer, R Dravid*, VVS Laxman, Y Singh, MS Dhoni+, I Pathan, A Kumble, H Singh, S Sreesanth, M Patel, G Gambhir, M Kaif, S Raina, D Karthik+, A Agarkar

India A
R Uthappa, S Dhawan, R Sharma, V Rao*, S Badrinath, D Karthik+, J Sharma, R Jadeja, P Chawla, VRV Singh, RP Singh, C Pujara, A Jhunjhunwala, SS Paul, G Singh

There definitely are flaws in this side. I'd like to think that Dhoni and Pathan's struggles are temporary things because of the way they have been scoring at will in the past few months, but only time will tell what the reality is. I always rated West Indies as a very talented side with the ability to be much better than #8 (kind of like India some time ago, where they were trash in ODIs despite having a star lineup) and I've been impressed.
I don't think there are any really worrying flaws in the side. It seems a pretty settled batting order (without Rao) and a decent and promising (yet to fully deliver) pace lineup and a couple of decent spinners. The flaw is with them doing the basics right or being out of form. I'm sure it can be rectified without any harsh changes.

Same thing happened to the West Indies last Thursday. It only goes to show that there are some major flaws in the Indian team and that there's not much daylight between India and the West Indies in reality.
true that, infact i'd say AUS at no 1 and SAF at no 2, and every other team is pretty much on same level, one good showing here and there, but not much advantage over other teams.

I totally agree. Rao is wasted down the order and I just wonder what was Dravid thinking today. He sent a guy like Raina at the top order and that IMO failed today.
I look forward to the day that
a) England pick someone named Lynn
b) Fat Bob gets back in the side
c) Raina plays against that English side and grasses an early chance
d) Lynn fails.

Then we can have the headline

"Raina drops Key (4) - Lynn gone"

My head!!!!!

Good to see the West Indies really showing some fight in this series. Sarwan seems to be in top form. At the moment it seems like Lara was the right choice for captain after all.

Well Ramdin is 21 years old, but Baugh is only 23. Both are young and talented.
Can you send one over here with an English passport so we can drop Geraint - and how apt is drop in that sentence?!

But he's also bowling with the white ball - not sure how much of a difference that makes...

Whatever it takes!!!
Great win for the Windies. India shot themselves in the foot while batting. Windies bowled and fielded brilliantly in the last 20 overs but even then India should have managed much more than 240, at least around 260-270. The last game, I felt, was more of Windies winning than India losing. This one, I think, was lost by India more than won by the Windies. When u win the toss and bat first on a good track like that, u gotta do better than this. Rao and Kaif in the same team is ridiculous to say the least.

The Wheel is Forever
Ramesh Powar and Suresh Raina have been picked for the Test series in West Indies after their impressive performances in one-day internationals. VRV Singh, the Punjab fast bowler, and Dinesh Karthik, the Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper, have also been included in the squad.

India opted to go for the third spinner in Powar and left out Ajit Agarkar and RP Singh. Robin Uthappa was also omitted as the selectors decided against the reserve opener for Virender Sehwag and Wasim Jaffer, who passed a fitness Test on Tuesday. Kiran More, the chairman of selectors, said that they had Mahendra Singh Dhoni to fill the opener's slot if needed.

That's it. As if there was any doubt, the Indian selectors have officially gone bat-**** insane. MS Dhoni as an opener. That'll be fun (for the Windies).

I disagree. In my humble oponion all the top 8 are at par with each other.

LOL @ Dhoni opening the batting if an injury occurs to Sehwag or Jaffer. Its obvious Dravid would do it.

You don't open a keeper in tests anyway. I know Sanga plays first drop but even that has been crticised previously.

On another note, didn't Kiran More and Dravid say that they wont have Make shift openers and so on since the series loss in Pakistan.
