Haha well a lot of the bowlers I do like tend to pitch it up but it's not a hard and fast rule. I like watching Stuart Clark and Chris Tremlett bowl and they bowl back of a length - they're still genuinely skillful though in a pure cricketing sense; they don't just rely on being fast, awkward and banging it in - they move it around (deliberately), have repeatable actions, are very accurate etc. Morkel's success is drawn disproportionately from his natural attributes and athleticism, which are big parts of cricket, but parts of cricket I don't enjoy watching as much as other parts.
I don't really agree, Morkel was an average bowler when that was what he relied on. When he runs through teams it's because he hits the right spots and moves the ball at pace, and one of the things that really endeared me to him was his working-out and working-over of Andrew Strauss this time last year. You can't fail to appreciate the line he bowls to left-handers from around the wicket. He's pretty much the perfect opening partner for Dale Steyn too, because he tends to excel against lefties and front-foot specialists, so watching those two together is just dreamy.

And then on top of all that he has so much natural aggression and gets some pretty extravagant bounce. One of the best to watch going, IMO.

Surprised nobody's noticed that SA are clattering along at over 4 rpo. We're usually grass growingly slow when we get in a dominant position.

Not sure what I think about this short ball barrage.

It's almost working, which is what is making me not dislike it I guess.

My name is Sreesanth. I bowl randomly wide of the crease to make it look like I know what I'm doing and that I have variety in my repotoire. But I don't... because I'm ****.

He's obviously worked on the other parts of his game (or he really would be Dilhara) but they're still not in the same league as someone like, for example, Praveen Kumar, who can't even get a game at Test level in what's a pretty cack bowling attack. He doesn't rely purely on athleticism and natural attributes anymore but they are still the two most important things about his bowling.

Kallis gives spinners so little margin for error on the short side. It's so unusual that his best aggressive shots against spinners are off the back foot.

Kallis does not look settled at all. He does not try to hook the ball that early in his inning. Whats going on?

Hit a fair few maximums against the Pak spinners in the recent test series in the Gulf. Usually early on as well. Closing in on the top 5 six hitters in test history. Still has hit more test sixes than Punter or Sachin.

I love how you think bagging Ojha has an effect on me, when it doesn't at all.

Just believe that his performances don't warrant being dropped when we play two spinners. Particularly since he outbowled Mishra when they went head to head in this match

7 more and he will be 2nd to Gilchrist
19 more and he will be No.1

Pretty unusual, but awesome!
