Sreesanth goes bananas

It's a moment that will be played on and on on Indian television, rivaling Ganguly's shirt-waving antics on the Lord's balcony. The sequence of events have been well documented - Sreesanth doesn't connect a Nel short one, is sledged for not having the heart for a fight, charges down the track the next ball, knocks it straight over the bowler's head for six, maniacally swings his bat while running to the other end, crosses Nel, and gyrates his hips with a ferocity that would make the movies.
So he's already won the argument by replying and hitting Nel for six.. All the histrionics and acting like a baby is still totally un-necessary because he's won the contest..

I guess the days of players using a ball and a bat (and occasionally words) to settle an argument are gone.. We need this guy running around swinging a bat like a headless chicken.. I'd have been impressed if he hit Nel for six and gave him a cold stare, but no

Oh c mon the kid was having fun. I saw an interview with Rahul Dravid after the match and he was asked about Sreesanths action. Here's what Dravid had to say

"I really have nothing against what he did because Cricket is a game where emotions get involved and it's also a good thing to have fun and not be dead serious all the time."

And I agree with him, the kid was just having fun, and making everyone else laugh, where on the other hand all Nel does his move his big mouth.

I agree it was all in the name of fun:laugh: It brought the game a bit of charecter and in the end Nel took it well and showed his spirits by waving his hand when he got his turn. It was all great fun8-)

Funniest thing ever imo. 'Owned' gets used quite alot these days annoyingly, but Nel was well and truly owned there.

The clip is all over youtube btw.

Oh i don't have an objection to what he did, it's not against the "Spirit of the game" or anything.. I just thought it looked pretty gay, I've seen people clouted for less.. I guess in India they have perhaps a slightly different take on what is funny and what makes you cringe..

I just feel you are really upset about the loss and need to take it out on something

People can have legitimate opinions without being sour on a loss. And I can completely see where he is coming from.

I guess. But Nel also waved his arm the same way (he didn't have a bat obviously) the very next delivery when he beat Sreesanth.

The Indians played well and deserve to win wonder what the Proteas reaction will be in the 2nd test:ph34r:
