YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

One of the greatest Indian test victories in my life time.
Probably the best since Kolkata and Adelaide. Made even better in that no-one gave them a chance, and after the absolute thrashing in the ODIs....just amazing.

So how high do you Indian's rate this win?, can't be above Kolkatta, but close to the Adelaide win i think..
Right up there with Adelaide. Also, the 4th test in WI was important because it was first series win outside the subcontinent in 20 years. Probably 2nd on my list, right after Kolkata, just because Aussies didn't have a full attack in Adelaide.

On par with Adelaide, because at the Gabba before Adelaide India showed a hint of being able to take it to the Aussies. Plus obviously they were missing McGrath.

However heading into this test all signs said India to be thumped. Plus in this test the bowling won it for us over the batsman (though the middle order was key in the victory as well obviously) which makes it a little different.

However beating the Aussies, even without McGrath, is always that much sweeter than beating a SA team that has shown weakness for a while now.

On par with Adelaide for me.. I don't think any match could possibly beat the Kolkata win for me... have some fond memories of that match.. although i didn't watch it live but followed it on dodgy radio signal in Wilson's Prometary. :p
I missed the Adelaide win as i was india at the time and totally forgot about cricket because i was too busy catching up with friends and family.

Hats off to Pollock. Really admire his professional effort with both bat and ball here. Pity that he didn't open the bowling.

Preferred Lineup for the 2nd Test at Durban

First of all, VRV Singh definitely should be on his way out. He has potential but is far too raw for this level; he needs to go back and take wickets for Punjab over a full season before being considered again. Bring in Munaf or Pathan if the former hasn't recovered, which would be bizarre considering the next test is after Christmas. Jaffer should get another shot as opener because he's done well in tests before this one. Dhoni also needs to make runs here. Jaffer and Dhoni to be replaced by Gambhir and Karthik if they fail in the next match. Well, Dhoni might get the 3rd test as well because of his upside. We better not get complacent because Pollock and Ntini will be at their very best in Durban IMO.

W Jaffer
V Sehwag
R Dravid *
S Tendulkar
VVS Laxman
S Ganguly
M S Dhoni +
A Kumble
Z Khan
S Sreesanth
M Patel

agree fully, adharcric. A brilliant day for Indian cricket. In honour of the occassion, I am gonna have Sourav as my avatar. If someone could find a good Sourav pic for me (avatar size, of course), I will be grateful. :)

I believe everyone who fell in love with Sreesanths bowling in this match, should have him in his avatar for atleast a day. Then later I'm willing to find you an avatar of Ganguly
