***Official*** India in South Africa 2017/18

Pandya seems like such a jerk but it's so fun. The arrogant follow-through of that overhead ramp thing was pretty great.

Time for our batsmen to capitalize. Without Steyn, with time on our hands, with common sense, we can take this game batting last and chasing 325 or thereabouts.

Pandya should rightly be battling for the headlines with South Africa's bowling attack for his performance in this Test so far, and so early into his Test career, yet he is already being heralded as the 'missing piece' for India. The man that is going to give India better balance in the side, especially in overseas series, and become a genuine match winner with either discipline. He will quickly have to become comfortable with expectations that may exceed any kind of reality, but being allowed to just go out there and express himself and enjoy his trade he could be a very important player for India in the years to come.

To take on the SA attack like he did today showed the impressive level of skills he has and also the ability to just shift momentum when everything is going in the opposite direction. AB took Bhuvi on when he was in the middle of a penetrative spell at the start of the Test to begin moving things SA's way, but that is AB, he's made a career out of shining in such situations! Here was Pandya in just his fourth Test innings and being lined up by one of the most fearsome bowling attacks of recent times. His hand was forced to a degree by the seven wickets that had fallen backing him into a corner where his only option was to come out swinging, but what a job he did, such a shame he didn't make it three figures.

^^He has timing and sense of arc and swing. It won't help him in swinging conditions like England but he'll be formidable everywhere else. Should love batting in Oz especially.

Tomorrow it's raining so hopefully a bit of cloud cover for Bhuvi.
By the way it seems that there has been very less rain but seems like a drought like scenario. Let it rain for 1 hr. It will make both locals and indian bowlers happy.

That's possibly the end of Steyn's career. Such a shame because unlike other pacers who get injured late in their careers he's still bowling brilliantly when he's fit and on the park.

India is not chasing anything close to 300. Even without Steyn, RSA attack is still pretty formidable

250-275 is doable for India, but even then that would be tough work. Anything past 300 or God forbid 350 and it will be a walloping. Its still a gun bowling line up without Steyn and still some doubts over plenty of the Indian batsman and the depth of the side.

Back; definitely worth 2 hours in the car and living up to my "rooinek" label. Would like to be back tomorrow too, but her indoors says it's shopping day tomorrow.

Pandya's knock was so gutsy! There were so many balls that could've gotten him out, but it didn't cause him to change his approach.

Good thing we played four seamers! With three on their last legs any one of Philander, Morkel or Steyn could be the one to break down.

Don't get the hate for Bumrah. Yadav has had pretty much no impact as a test player. 36 matches and he hasn't got to 100 wickets; even playing in India that's a passenger! The ball to dismiss AB was a peach. He's got something going for him. I don't understand his run though; he walks for half of it - surely could get more wheels with a different approach. I do realise that changing that would be a massive remodeling though...

What a shame :( But what a bowling attack South Africa have. Rabada, I just love him so much.
