IKP is an absolute legend, the sultan of swing. His performance is a slap on the faces of the ppl who use to say that he can only perform against minnows!
Even with that 5 wickets today, his non-Zim/Ban record is 41 wickets @ 44.80...

But it's going to come down with time (won't take much long).

IKP has shown again and again that he's a force with the ball to be reckon with.

Even when IKP wasn't in the best of his form, he comes up with a history-making performance!! What a legend!

Before today it was going up rapidly.

Yes, time and again against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

Of course he is better than Pathan, but not by far, which was what the original poster said and I guess that is what adharcric was trying to point out.

.
I think when someone has scored 6 tons in international matches (4 test, 2 ODI) as compared to someone yet to get a ton, then the difference b/w the two can't be slight.

Akmal is a good batsman, who can open the innings too.Pakistan's senior batsmen should actually take some lesson from their keeper:laugh:

Now this is what I call a test match!

Pathan with a hat-trick in the first over of a match! Amazing. What a first day's play it must have been. Pity I couldn't see or follow any of it, I was at Big Day Out.

Also, if Ganguly is looking to cement a spot in the Indian test line-up, this is clearly his best opportunity. 4-74 trailing by 171 runs with him and Yuvraj, the player keeping him out of the team, at the crease. Mouth watering situation.

India should be looking for atleast 150 runs innings lead. Anything above that would be awesome, but a lead of 150 would probably give them a target of 100- 125 to chase in the last innings which they would be able to do that without great trouble.

I think Dhoni is gonna fire today, might get a ton, Yuvraj too looks in good nick and Saurav can actually surprise alot of ppl by getting a big score. Pathan is high after a great bowling spell and is likely to do well with the bat, while Khan and Kumble can chip in with useful runs.Hopefully India will get a big first innings lead:)

If you play on a road it happens, the pitches were tailor made for flat track bullies and had nothing in it for pacers, so one can't blame IKP really.

Yes, time and again against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh
Time and again against Pakistan too!! Only this time his spell was a history-making one!!!

The last time India toured Pakistan, IKP's role was instrumental in Pak's downfall, so much so that Pakistan were shying away from playing on sporting pitches as they actually fear the sight of IKP on a green top.

Before this Test, he had 20 wickets @ 53.55 against Pakistan... A best of 4-100 - hardly time and time again that.

As i said earlier , on a road pacers do struggle! But when he did get an opportunatey to bowl on lively wkt, he did impress.

If IKP had played most of the matches on green top , the averages would have been very different, but unfortunately the matches were played on turf where flat track bullies could scores tons after tons!

You could say that about any bowler. The fact is though, bowlers DONT play most of their matches on green tops, yet they can still manage better averages than 40 odd against test standard opposition.

The reality is that Pathan has had a few poor stretches in his career already, especially the one that started with the last India-Pakistan series at home. When he's been in form, he's been very penetrative. Apart from the first and second test here on dead tracks, he's been bowling quite well over the past few months. He needs to make it a regular thing and not have these "loss of pace" and "loss of in-swinger" periods. I personally think he'll be a dangerous strike bowler for India for quite some time. He could go on to become India's lesser version of Wasim Akram/Imran Khan, only because he lacks pace right now. I'd say batting-wise he'll be better than Wasim but behind Imran, and bowling-wise he'll be behind both the **** legends. He certainly has great potential as a batsman, no doubt about that. Still, he's not close to world-class status as a bowler.

Just to let you know...you just quoted yourself. Secondly, from what I understand **** doesn't mean anything bad outside of a certain little island nation, that is largely irrelevant. most of the pakistanis here in the US don't care, and same is good for everywhere except britania (ive a lot of pakistani friends, and this is what i gather).

on the other hand why are you bringing this up. indirectly, this is a low blow. very sad you have to resort to this.

p.s. you troll.

Indian ODI Squad - : Rahul Dravid (capt), Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag (vice-capt), Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Suresh Raina, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wk), Gautam Gambhir, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan, R P Singh, Murali Kartik, Harbhajan Singh, S Sreesanth.

Pretty much predictable selection. No Munaf Patel, though. And I doubt if Agarkar will get a game.

Haha... you completely missed his point!

Is his first post, he used the word "P a k i" and it was censored out. His second post was basically commenting on how he didnt think the word should be censored - thats why he quoted his first post.

I seriously dont get why 'P*ki' is a censored word or a swearword. 'P*ki' means 'pure' and 'Pakistan' means 'land of the pure'. A bit pompous, i will grant that but hardly derogatory!
