Munaf Patel is not in context for this series and is in no way a solution to any problem right now. Of course, it would have been better to go on all along with a 5 bowler, 5 batsmen, 1 wk lineup but why must you bring in the issue of Munaf Patel now since it will not be happening? Well, you can hope he will be sent to join the team for the third test, but I'm afraid you'll only be dissapointed.

My point is whatever change is made with the lineup, it should be made for the right reasons. Replacing Yuvraj to get in a bowler while ganguly remains in the side as a middle order batsman is fundamentally wrong in my opinion as it gives the statement that Ganguly deserves a place as a batsman before Yuvraj. But since Ganguly's got to make his final statement, I'll grant him that much (anyway, doesn't matter if I grant or not since the team management most likely will).
I know Munaf is not there in the squad, the selectors being the chickens we know them to be. That's why I mentioned the series against England. He's definitely the best choice as the fifth bowler, since he also scores runs– at a good strike rate.

p.s. Why, oh, why, did those jokers drop Joginder Sharma so soon?

I would hope so too. I am not very big on keeping myself updated on the domestic scene, but its hard to miss Munaf's current form. I agree that Agarkar is now a dinosaur in the pitch - hopelessly out of place. Indian pace department has always been a worrying issue. There was one brief period when it looked competitive with zaheer and nehra at their peaks but never after that has it looked menacing as compared to the other top pace lineups.

However, even for tommorow's match I'll be hoping against hope that they go with 5 bowlers. Or at least drop Agarkar.

If you replace Ganguly by Zaheer Khan, then the Indian attack is far better.
Excellent! The solution to India's opening batting problems, replace Ganguly with Zaheer Khan and send him out to open. Genius! Why didn't the selectors see it before? I personally would say he's a tad underrated seeing as he is outside the top 100 batsmen though... An innovative idea for sure.

Not only is that not a decent sentence, you know full well what the answer is going to be.

Pay for it yourself.

Pakistan have decided to go with an additional batter in Razzak in place of Rana Naveed for the second test match, while Asif is goin to come in , in place of Sami.In my opinion its a very defencive tactic that too on a dead track, playing a match with just 3 specialist bowlers in Akhtar,Asif and Danish!!

India on the other hand seems to be thinking about going into the match with 5 specialist bowlers. Considering Faisalabad wkt is suppose to be a dead track like Lahore, playing a match with 5 specislist bowlers seems to be the right move.

I think if India wins the toss and bat first, then they will put up a big total and will then be in a good position to win the match.Pakistan batting might crumble in reply to a big total, if Pakistan do bat first then they might put up a decent total and thus the match might result in a draw.

Hope India wins toss, bat first and wins the match:)

The main problem with your analysis is that there are too many "if"s and "might"s.

I don't have a problem with Razzaq coming in for Rana but surely the latter would be ahead of Mohammad Asif. Looks like a kneejerk reaction from the Pakistani selectors after the embarrassment at Lahore.

I am fine with Asif in place of sami (if that is the case) but to bring in Razzaq does not reflect well on their thinking processes

This is ridiculous. I am amazed at how inane the media is. Dravid opening ! anycone can see that BOTh openers were dropped because Ganguly used all his guile and connections to get picked.
    So why are the openers not in the team now ?? Let me guess this time it is Zaheer and are RP Singh's damn connections.

finally a good squad picked. agarkar out, zaheer and rp in. brilliant.
How I agree! I just hope the top order doesn't fail, becaus the tail looks a bit weak.

Pak openers struggled even on batting track.

Its amazing to see Razzak in Pak side as third pacer, this shows that as far as pace is concerned, it remains Pak weakness. There seems to be no proper pacer to replace a frontline pacer ( Shabbir Ahmad is banned)

How the hell can a bowling attack of Akhtar & Danish coupled with the likes Asif (a rookie) Afridi,Malik & Razzak (bits and pieces players) be expected to get 20 Indian wkts?????
