cricbuzz ball by ball commentary team had this to say

Sachin Tendulkar was unfortunate to be dismissed in that fashion, he got a glove on way to the keeper but when the ball brushed his glove it was clearly not in contact with the bat, as per the rules it should have been delcared not-out. But Sachin never helped his cause as he started walking off as soon as the keeper snapped the ball, Simon Taufel could do nothing much.
On a different note, too much of blame is being put on umpires these days. Cricbuzz actually does a creditable thing by explaining Taufel having little choice.

Its not the umpire's fault that the technology is better than the past. Also they travel an extra ordinary amount of time which doesn't make their task easier. Blame the ICC for not implementing technology where its conclusive and the ICC for not appointing at least a few more umpires than they do currently. The ICC panel of umpires has gone down to 7 from 12 when it started off if I am not mistaken.

Make the job more lucrative and make their schedules less hectic.

369/5 after 100 overs. Run-rate of 3.69. 415 by the end of the day isn't far off from what I said initially.

Also, kudos to Dhoni and Pathan! How much better are they compared Mongia and Prabhakar?

Dhoni can bat......and how

And don't expect the Indians to be docked overs for slow batting when these two are at the crease!

The Indians can use someone like Shahid Afridi in their team. Not only do they have someone who can turn a match on its head and crush the opposition from out of nowhere, but the four bowlers will also have good support.

AFRIDI: ???
IRFAN (unhappy face): ???
IRFAN (to umpire): ???
AFRIDI (stepping forward): ???
RUDI (to Afridi): Now I don't want one more word out of your mouth. Go back
RUDI (to Irfan): You go back

A short while later, Akhtar was warned for running on the pitch by Taufel.

End of the day's play. This combination of Dhoni and Irfan have done a remarkable job of rescuing the Indians from the jam they were in, having lost four wickets. They've saved the follow-on and they've got under the skin of the Pakistanis, as could be noticed from Afridi's attempts at sledging them. They are a good combination for this Indian team, and should stay together in the team for a long time.

Yup, Pathan is becoming quite a handy batsman but he must must do something to improve his bowling.

Then came the voice of Rudi and it ended briefly.

Maybe, as Boycott said, add 10k's, or just bowl to a proper plan. Look at how often he bowled short to Afridi then. Not to mention, come in along the crease, and not at an angle. Hopefully the people in charge are working on that....or will be. He had decent support this time, so he has underperformed here, but this is one pitch where nobody who lacks pace can succeed, and Abdul Razzaq's performance is an example. Should just be a bug, and not a major deficiency, and in no way enough to cost him his place in the side.
