after watching the replays Boycott, rameez and sanjay all agreed that it was out ,his hand was still on the handle when the ball made contactAnil said:...but why did tendulkar walk??? he should have known after 16 years of international cricket that he was not out...right???
What Pakman said.Anil said:...but why did tendulkar walk??? he should have known after 16 years of international cricket that he was not out...right???
And who didn't?Sanz said:Can Tendulkar fanatics take any of his dissmissal sportingly ?

Nonsense as usual from you if its referring to me.Sanz said:The Usual suspects.
Why is no one commending the Little Master's sportsmanship and honesty for walking at such a crucial point in such an atmosphere. SRT obviously knew he gloved it to Kamran Akmal and honestly decided to walk because he knew he was out. Full credit to him for walking in a game of so much tension, I don't know why people are treating it like an act of blasphemy.Pratyush said:What Pakman said.
But it would indeed be shocking if Tendulkar didn't know the rule on this.
Though I'm not in India, I don't think the reaction that SRT generates is any different than the ones that other larger-than-life superstars in different countries receive. For example, living in Dallas, TX, I can tell you that the legendary Nolan Ryan (Baseball) could do no wrong. When he pitched (bowled), EVERY pitch should've been a strike per his fans' expectations. So if an umpire ruled otherwise, it was an unfair call, and so an and so forth. This is just one example. I can cite so many other examples of different athletes in different countries. So to single out the reaction SRT is getting in India is a bit harsh don't you think?Sanz said:You dont understand..SRT cant be given out or walk like that, he is born to bat and he should do just that, even if he knows that he is out. Umpires are not supposed to give him out, all his lbws, caught out decisions are wrong and deliberate umpiring mistakes, every time he is bowled, it is because he is extremely unlucky and not because the bowler was any good. All his runouts are fielders/bowlers fault for obstructing his way.
Jeez, if you look at the newspapers of India, you will find more articles discussing SRT's dismissal thatn Dhoni's innings.

Interesting scenario.
Great, that explains it.Sanz said:You dont understand..SRT cant be given out or walk like that, he is born to bat and he should do just that, even if he knows that he is out. Actually, to an extent that does explain it. I noticed that almost everyone who commented on Tendulkar's decision to walk is Indian. Not that they have the extreme attitudes that are described by Sanz, I think that a very small part of what he said is true.Tom Halsey said:He was being sarcastic - he agrees with you.
The only position in which Pakistan will look for quick runs is if they're 100 or so ahead on first innings.Fusion said:While I still think if there's a result to be had it's probably of a Pak victory, you do bring up a good point. Let's suppose India are all out after adding another 100 or so runs (or perhaps 200 if Dhoni/Pathan stay set at the crease). Let's say it leaves Pakistan half a day to bat. Should they promote Afridi to open the innings (with Malik being uncertain to play now)? I think Pak would need to give themselves plenty of time to bowl out India again (obviously). So Pak would need to score at a high rate, so bringing up Afridi/Razzaq up the order would be ideal.
