we don't have a chance of winning this match, the primary goal as of now should be to save it....even if the indians play positively, they have to be really judicious in their shot selection, not everyone can bat like sehwag....

You really feel for the bowlers on these pitches. They've kept it in the right areas and have bowled tight lines without much reward.

DEAD pitches. FLAT tracks.

Pakistan: 1267 runs in 279.8 overs lost 17 wickets-RR: 4.53; 74.53/wicket

India: 585 runs in 135.7 overs lost 2 wickets-RR: 4.31; 292.5/wicket

Let's declare India winners as Pakistan won the toss both times and should have India under pressure and then PLEASE call this FARCE off

What's the scariest thing for me is that he's threatening to grow a brain and play innings that are still coruscating in their, well, bloodlust - but appropriate to the situation. Defending, leaving... and then exploding.

It could be quite something over the next year or so - I'm certainly tempted by a few day fives next summer.
True but only taken him what 6 years? ( not sure). Hopefully he caries on in this manner, he provides entertaining cricket.

Hahaha, with this rate it will take rest of the test match to score 470 runs..
uh. Sit back and enjoy Dravid's immense concentration. I must say, the ultra slow motion display is amazing.

Is it just me, or do the Pakistani pace bowlers seem a class above Indian bowlers?
When the combined effort of a whole bowling attack yield just one wkt in each test matches, then it must be said that the pace attack is a world class one!

No offense, but are you actually watching the match in television?

I think India will pile up a huge total, somewhere near 650-700 runs and will probably declare then and the match will end in a dull draw.

All eyes will be on the Karachi match, where Pakistan might miss its captain, Rana and Malik coz of injury .The absence of Inzi alone will give India a huge advantage, as even on batting track India will be able to beat a weakened Pak team missing its captain Inzi (which happen to be the backbone of Pak batting lineup).

I have to bring on the point of Dravid opening and Laxman batting at 3. Some people were averse to the idea when I brought it up in the India-Sri Lanka thread. Remarks were made like what message does it send to so many openers in the country.

I am happy withthe development. It still has to be seen whether Dravid decides to come back to number 3 or maintains this spot in more helpful conditions/abroad. If he puts his mind to it, he can do the job I am convinced.

It is no secret that Laxman loves batting at number 3.

A common arguement can be - opening is not an easy job. Another can be - what message does it send other openers in the country. Another can be why unsettle the important role Dravid plays at 3.

I see the much bigger problem in India's opening worries in the past 10-15 years abroad and if it can be solved, it would be a big achievement.

Should be interesting to see how it goes.

Indeed, 2 matches so far and zero wicket for the mighty one man pace attack:laugh:
Anyone who actually saw the test match would know that Akhtar bowled better than any Indian pacer..and that includes Singh

There is no way in hell that Pak can think of winning a test match against India without Inzamam.

If Inzamam doesn't play then Pak best bet would be to make a dead pitch without any grass and alineup with seven batsmen
