***Official*** India in Pakistan

This match will end in a booring draw thanks to the cowardly act by PCB of preparing a dead track.

I reckon atleast 2 Indian batsmen willl score a century (or maybe even three of them might do it) and one of them might even score 200 + runs!

BCCI should reinforce Indian team by sending out the inform express fast bowler "Munaf Patel" to Pak to join the squad.

This Indian team need an express fast bowler to demolish Pakistan team, either Munaf or VRV singh should be send to Pak a.s.a.p with the mission being "Demolish Pak batsmen"

I thought Dravid should have thrown the ball to Harbi more than he did do as he actually looked like getting a wicket, was unlucky with the ball not carrying to him from YK and was getting some turn..
Agreed. And he again missed a trick in the third session where he didnt react quickly when Younis and Yousuf started upping the scoring rate and that spell of 20 overs for 100 runs really hurt India.

Regarding the who-should-open debate, I have this to say. It might sound a bit politically inclined and perhaps might defy cricket logic, but I think Ganguly MUST open. If he doesn't then a poor precedent will be set up. That politics has an influence on team selection is a known fact but to let it proceed to such an extent? Ganguly's selection in the middle order is not justified since he has not done anything spectacular and the others have done nothing wrong that warrants a change. And allowing him to come in there is not a permanent solution because the debate will remain in subsequent matches whether to take Yuvraj or Ganguly. If instead he does well as an opener, and I see no reason why he should not because he is talented and has been working hard with Tendulkar on just that, then THAT will justify his inclusion and solve a lot of problems for Indian cricket for the next few years. And it is the right thing because he's the one fighting for a place and I don't see why he should have the privilege of choice.

I do hope, Ganguly opens and for India's sake, scores a hundred but if that were not to happen and Dravid opens, I secretly hope he (Dravid goes for a blob and the middle order collapses for India to follow on 350 runs behind for the folly of having one billion selectors is clear to all.

But I suppose the media will not learn anything and will start another campaign on do you think Chappell and his experimentation has ruined Indian cricket ?

SMS YES to the following number....

How well you understand the state of affairs in Indian cricket!

I think the opening spot is the only place for Ganguly now. But, how fair is that? He was selected keeping in mind his 'experience and performance' over the years, but he did all that as a middle order bat. If one feels unfair about Dravid opening the innings, how would it be fair on Ganguly?

If he was never selected, that's a different thing, the ideal situation, maybe. But, given a chance to prove himself, I would say, let him have his # 6 spot.

That the selectors succumbed to pressure and termed it 'experience and reputation' is another issue.

Yousuf would have to be the ultimate flat track bully.

Incredibly ordinary against anyone with a heart-beat or in anything but great batting conditions then cashes in massively against minnows and on wickets like this.

So disapointed to see Inzi go so cheaply! I would've expected a good score from him. Kumble gets him again, well bowled.

Hey, I am just "reporting" what happened. Did I riot ? I agree that the langauge is unaclled for but that is precisley the point. Can you imagine how Dravid and the other Indian players felt being booed by their OWN HOME crowd in India ? Come on we all know that Ganguly's selection was not on his current form as a batsman. Why did he drop out of the Nagpur Test ?
Justtool - Which country you live in ?? Which Country Ravi Shastri played for ? Did you ever question your Banglorean/Mumbaikar/Delhites for shouting Shastri Hai Hai ?? Were you in the stadium when the chennai Crowd booed Sourav Ganguly or suffering from Rataondhi ?

No I dont know that Ganguly's selection was not on his current form, but I guess you do have some insider information, so why not curse your Maharashtrian BCCI Chief or Gujrati Chairman of selector etc etc....Why did they select Ganguly ? But no you will conveniently ignore all that and continue your diatribe against Bengalis and Kolkatans.

As for why Ganguly drop out of Nagpur Test - How about INJURY. Why did SRT drop out of 3 tests against Australia ? BTW, why did Vidarbha cricket association refuse to cut the grass despite Ganguly asking for it ? Why did Dravid miss out the test match against SL, Why did Sehwag miss Kotla test ?

If you have proof then put up else just stop your nonsense here and watch the game.

What he said might've seemed a bit extreme, but fans that cheer for the opposition deserve harsh treatment. One can't blame Ganguly for the Kolkatan fan behavior, only those disgraceful fans should be condemned for that. If you can't see that there's anything wrong with such behavior, well, there's no point explaining anything to you. No one here is being rascist when we say something like "those Kolkatan fans". We are not cursing every Bengali in the world by such a statement ... just happens to be that those disgraceful fans who oppose the national team for the sake of one player are a group of Kolkatans in this case.

Now, Ganguly may not deserve his place in the team on cricketing merit, but I think they made the right move in playing Ganguly in this test. If he does well, he deserves his spot and it helps the team. If he does poorly, goodbye Ganguly, no excuses. Now, perhaps they took into account that this is supposedly a batting paradise when inserting Ganguly. If he can't even do well on this pitch, forget it.
Hey Adharcric stop your biased crap. How do you know they were all Kolkatans ? I know few of my friends had flown from Banglore to watch the game, some people from my hometown had taken the morning train from Jamshedpur to Kolkata to watch the game....and no not all of them were bengalis.. what proof do you have that those people who booed Indian team were Kolkatans or Bengalis ?

Did you know that Sambit Bal and Rahul Bhattacharya are also bengalis..?

I dont care if Ganguly deserves his place or not....because it is not my job to select or drop him. There are five wisemen who are supposed to do a job, why not direct your diatribe against the selectors who are such incompetent nincompoops that they keep selecting Ganguly when the whole world knows that he has been in poor form

Why did Rahul Dravid select him in the final XI ? If he succumbed to pressure then he doesn't deserve to lead India...

Younis was lucky early in the innings as well..had SRT's throw hit the stump he would have been out for 1. So I guess I see some justice there. Good fightback by India.

If the other guy is on 199, and you have just entered the innings, YOU SHOULD RUN FOR THE SINGLE NO MATTER WHAT. That was bone-headed of Afridi. He better get some runs to make up for it.

Gee. You are a real genius. Thanks for clarifying everything. Everyone knows what a spoiled brat and selfish player Ganguly is...except you.

Hey Sanz - Ever thought about some anger management classes. You and Ganguly could attend together. The whole nation witnessed what a fool Ganguly made of himself yelling at Dravid as if it's him, and not Dravid, who is the captain

Yes I dont know if he is a spoilt brat or not and I couldn't care less even if he was one....I am sure you knew that before he was selected to play for India and then made captain.

As for him being selfish..who isn't ??
