:) This is awesome. A lot of us indian fans have never celebrated an overseas victory but it has finally happened. India has giving a good fight in overseas series ever since Ganguly took over as captain but the win always eluded us. For example in the West Indies and Asutralia where they went 1 up in the series but ended up not winning.

For me the most positive thing from this series has been the bowling. It has certainly improved. I did think Balaji would not be a good strike bowler. I was mistaken and i'm sure a lot of you guys were too. In the last match he showed he can be an aggressive bowler and take wickets when it matters the most. Pathan has been making the headlines due to his impressive bowling and all the while Balaji was there trying in the shadows and he has finally emerged.

Oh and Ganguly becomes the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket. And he played pretty well in this match. I expect the Ganguly detractors of this board to go silent for a while. :D

I think that Pakistan need to learn how to swing the ball again.
Very true...I hardly saw any swing in this whole tour from the pakistani bowlers...A few but thats about it.

Me too. Funny that the 2 madrasis in cricketweb were predicting that Balaji would'nt do well.

Choora is from Madras as well and he is a big fan of Balaji. Who is the other one from Madras? Lions81?

It would be REALLY interesting if all the John Wright rumours and rumblings are correct. If I were anything to do with the PCB, I would grab him with both hands the moment he became available.
No Use of it too.Max Pakistani players are illeterate so they wont understand anything. This point is always raised by Zaheer Abbass too.

They are not Illiterate. They are probably educated in Urdu schools and do not speak english very well. I dont think it would be that big of a problem, Look at the no. of Pakistani Players playing in County cricket, They have adjusted pretty well there.

Even in the Indian Team, Kaif, Harbhajan, Sehwag, Pathan, Balaji etc have a good english, but they have no problem communicating with the team coach or physio.

Kudos to Asim Kamal and Inzamam for their performances. They've won my respect with the tremendous amount of heart and courage they showed through the series. This is what cricket is all about guys.

Balaji speaks English quite fluently and so too Pathan . Kaif used to speak ok in Eng when he started but he is quite fluent now while Bhajji speaks decent English. Sehwag struggles a bit ( Like Inzamam) and he doing no favour by speaking in Hindi/Urdu in almost every interview now a days.

I assume you said that they are not that good at English b'coz if u meant what u typed then it is .......................

Yes agreed. Kamal showed so much courage to go out there batting. He got a damn injection out in the crease just so he could keep batting! That's really amazing and in my opinion he has earned a permanent position in the Pakistani team. I really think a few years down the line, Pakistani fans will remember this tour as the one in which they unearthed a superstar batsmen in the form of Asim Kamal.

Sami also impressed me a lot. Even when things looked bad for Pakistan, he ran in hard and bowled at 90 mph without wavering. That kind of courage should hopefully inspire other bowlers. The same for Kaneria and Akbar. Though they didn't have much luck, they toiled away hard.

Yes, it seems everyone on the Indian team except Sehwag seems to speak English. If a foreign coach is hired for Pakistan, shouldn't he learn Urdu to communicate? At least a basic command of Urdu should be learned.

And I'm not from Madras, I'm from New York, but my parents are from Thiruvananthapuram :D

Congratulations to India & fans on winning the test series.

It was a great series and it was a well deserved victory by India. The stars of the series for me are..Dravid, the backbone of Indian batting line and the most outstanding batter (wish we had someone like him) and Shre...Balaji the unexpected star who won hearts in Pakistan as much with his dedicated bowling as with his humility and easy manner off-field.

Pakistan...well they were asked alot of questions and they didnt have the answers. In their defence only thing that can be said is that they are a young & inexperienced team and hopefully will improve and this defeat should help them along that journey.

This series rekindled my passion for cricket, which I had lost during the WC in england due to various corruption charges and match fixing reports in international cricket.

One strange thing and which I still find hard to belive is the crowd behaviour. No pitch invasions, no death to india chants, no stoning of players..seems unnatural..... Have we grown up in the sub-continent?

I am praying it is another 50 years before India beat us again in Pakistan......... ;)
