Yeah for sure mate, it is a worry for them. Hopefully though Gul will be fit for the next tour.

This is the first time Ive seen Pakistan upclose since the debacle of the World Cup and against Australia in Sharjah and Colombo.

This Pakistan team is very, very impressive. Sure they have weaknesses, but there is so much talent brimming from this young side.

Hameed, Farhat, Sami, Gul, Kaneria, Akmal, Kamal, it keeps going.

They will be dominating if the next few seasons IF and only IF the team has some stability.

It's funny how he said it, not that they get injured. He's the CEO of the Pakistani Cricket Board, and you wouldn't expect someone in such a position to make such blunt statements.

Asim Kamal and Kamran Akmal for sure look excellent. Umar and Farhat don't particularly impress, despite Farhat's one good knock, and Hameed, though much hyped, turned out to be a bust in the Tests. Sami and Gul are definitely going to be good one day, Sami's pace is lethal and Gul's accuracy is excellent. But they won't be dominating if they don't develop a team attitude. Forget consistency, they need to realize they're a team.

Both brimming with talent but being poorly run.

Pakistan's coaches have good technical skills but they where they lose out big time is in fitness and tactical awareness.
Its no coincidence that India's performance started to go up since they hired a coach well versed in the way cricket is played nowadays and a professional physio and fitness trainer. Add to that the inputs provided by a top sports psychologist in Sandy Gordon.

You won't make the grade on skills alone these days.

Yes, but the rumour was that John wanted to return to his family in NZ.
If that is the case, its unlikely he would take up a potential Pakistani offer.

It will certainly be interesting to see where John Wright stands with India now. The BCCi certainly have no grounds to not renew John's contract (which runs out in September) -- mind you, they are capable of stupid things just like the PCB.

Well...I dont think all of them would respond well to an English speaking coach, since alot of them cant even compose proper sentences, they would probably not be that comfortable talking with the new coach and would not be able to express themselves properly.[while with Miandad they chat for hours...]
