Haha, yeah. One of the reasons I think he is merely alright, his whinging does get a little irritating but he clearly does feel strongly about the Black Caps, and he usually makes some intelligent remarks on the game (although with some shockers re: McIntosh). Same with Doully, although I find him annoying, he often offers some interesting insights on pace bowling, and the combinations they have seem to work well together. Its usually been enjoyable listening over the course of the series.

Dhoni has made his 50, dont know why they dont declare. Unless 600 is the aim.

Edit/ 600 reached. Still no declaration.

Edit 2/ India already has the series won though. So clearly no compulsion to absolutely declare early.

I think they are waiting until drinks, which is in a couple minutes. Probably that was the plan all along, have five and a half sessions.

We'll see, that's what the commentators think.

I'm not too fussed by this because they theoretically have almost two days left but looking at tomorrow's forecast and it looks like India aren't really worried by 1-0 or 2-0. Shame, I'd like our teams to be more ruthless in these types of situations.

Makes sense. I thought they would go for 5 1/2 sessions but only because I thought they would need that amount of time this morning to set a total of 600. Waiting for drinks is a little silly imo, if you have already reached your personal 50, and set a score of 600 for the opposition. Get in and get on with it.

He's bowled a lot slower this series. Even in Napier where he didn't pick wickets he still bowled slow and flighted it unlike in the past.
Yeah. Was really impressed by his bowling in Hamilton, especially his first two spells in the second innings.

Although both he and Vettori tend to be slightly faster, if not as fast as Jeets. Both, I think, tend to average around the 85 kph mark (Jeets closer to 90 kph).

Love Marto. Looked all out of sorts for Auckland and then bowls consistently well throughout the tests (on some pretty flat tracks) to take 14 wickets at 32. Probably the only consistently test class bowler for New Zealand in this series.

Really hopes he stays good long enough to pick up 200 wickets.

A little bit, but the law of averages was always destined to catch up with Sehwag, except for his horrid dismissals (especially the second) in Napier. Still think he averages over 30 for the series at a SR of 100. He has just failed by his own standards - but this just makes it more likely that some other hapless team is going to cop it from him big time in the near future.

Yeah. Agreed. He deserves it [200 wickes] too, a bowler with real heart.

Average of 32 is excellent given the circumstances. Should never have been dropped last year - looks even more ridiculous given how poorly the pretenders (Gillespie, Mills, Southee) have performed.

Really hope he can stay fit and healthy enough to play another season or even two. I'd hope that by the time he retires guys like Southee will have improved significantly, O'Brien will still be playing and Mills & Franklin will be fit and in form.
