Don't think I've ever felt more sorry for a cricketer than Pankaj right now
That is why I said 88-3 was a good first session for England. You know the Dhoni drift isn't far away so when it happens we take control.Dhoni bowling Ashwin and Jadeja from both ends when Root and Buttler werent settled was typical MS. He just doesn't understand when to keep the pressure on and allows the game to just drift aimlessly.
Yeah, I think it was more th fact that he was so unbelievably good till 2008 that everyone just hated him because of it. He was public enemy no.1 in India for most of his 2002-08 peak... and after the Sydney test, the hate reached ridiculous heights. He also got more gracious in defeat as a captain, or maybe just got more opportunities to show it and everyone started to warm to him. It was somewhere between his awesome Headingley knock in 2009 and his batting in 2010 in India that I decided I was a fan. Have wubbed him since.Man I've so enjoyed everyone of them, and it so weird that I can think that way of Ricky now. 5 or 6 years ago I'd have turned the telly off you'd have said there was a RP masterclass on.......now I can't get enough of it.
Me and Fred mentioned it a while back, a player we once so despised has become one we so respect........think it was the 2009 Ashes when he warmed on me.
Can say same about Woakes.I think Pankaj needs to get a bit of **** about him.............looks way to happy about being the unluckiest bowler ever.
Nasser is watching.Dhoni leaving Kumar and Aaron for the new ball then?
Game will be gone by then.
Definitely got more gracious. What turned me was how **** he got treated in England in 2009 and how well he took it.He also got more gracious in defeat as a captain, or maybe just got more opportunities to show it and everyone started to warm to him. It was somewhere between his awesome Headingley knock in 2009 and his batting in 2010 in India that I decided I was a fan. Have wubbed him since.
I know it's been fashionable for a while now to feel for him, but I've long since felt the draw of records breaking on my watch and have defected to the opposite camp. Ftr it's 588 balls without a wicket for the crown, and Pankaj is up to 384.Pankaj now 0/258. Gun.
I have sympathy for him still, because he definitely was unlucky in the first test. Not bowled well here though, in helpful conditions too.I know it's been fashionable for a while now to feel for him, but I've long since felt the draw of records breaking on my watch and have defected to the opposite camp. Ftr it's 588 balls without a wicket for the crown, and Pankaj is up to 384.
