**Official** India in Bangladesh Thread

It seems he has been picked as a specialist bowler.

Perhaps they simply backed the efforts of Agarkar and Pathan to score quickly at the end of an ODI innings. A man on debut coming in when Agarkar did really could have backfired.

If the score was 6/40, Im sure Sharma would have come in, but with the game at the situation it was, Agarkar and Pathan were a much safer bet.

Dhoni coming in so late was unavoidable. At 45-3, Kaif and Dravid were the best men India could have had to rebuild. It just happened that they carries on till the 40th over.

Sriram is different. They could have tried him at 3 or 4. Sharma at 11 is a big puzzle.

Sharma was listed at 11 on the score card right from start of play. It seems there never was a plan to send him in higher up the order.

200 is avg score in this ground
Keep in mind though, about 50% of the innings played there would have been by Bangladesh, so I wouldnt read too much into that.

Totally revamped lineup for Bangladesh I see. Trying a few things. Rafique opened with Nafis, and the now the keeper Mashud is in at #3. I think both are good moves, despite Rafique failing.

I dont think he was ever going to bat #11 (infact he batted 10...)

Teams often dont name their batting lineup. They just name the team as it comes into the captains head. Perhaps Sharma was the last person that came to mind.

Rafique bats positively, and its is great to see. His bowling was another outstanding performance of 1/39 off his full 10 overs. Not bad for a spinner.

How odd...

Cricinfo insisted that Mashud was batting for a good 5 to 10 minutes, and then decided it was Habibul all along....

And yes, Sehwag, where are you watching that? Is that a web feed? Could you please PM me the site if it is.

Well I would have been interested, except Ive already missed the first innings, and Im not about to pay to watch Bangladesh be rolled for 50...

Yet teh run rate is still only a tick over 2 and a half.

Honestly, I dont know WHY Nafis opens. From what Ive seen and read, hes a superb player of spin, but struggles to score against fast, bouncey bowlers. Ideal number 5 if you ask me.....

yea shaka waaaaay too many extras.

Agarkar is a GREAT consistent bowler. He manages to maintain his economy rate of over 5 even against Bangladesh!

Where have all the fielders gone? The Bangladeshis are playing lots of false shots and are just scooping balls straight up, but nobody's catching anything! They have given up, they're not trying to hit big shots and this is a good chance to take wickets by placing fielders in catching positions.

Yuvraj has scored little, but seems to be in demand (76% of the viewers voted for him) as 'smart player of the day'. Quite a catch that was!

Sharma's last over was very expensive, and he needs to work on his bowling in the final overs. He's good with the new ball, but there's no point bowling short balls in the final overs, at such a slow pace. Not to mention one ball too many bowled on the pads.

There have been a few direct hits missed. More work for the coach, but Kaif can definitely work on his own.
