*Official* India in Australia Thread

Does anyone else feel that persisting with MacGill is pointless?

It just seems to me that the Indian batsman have him spooked. His comments after the last test that the Indians didn't care what he was bowling seem to be the words of a defeated man. Perhaps Hogg may be the better choice - he seems to have a more positive attitude and I reckon he might trouble the Indians a bit more.

Even Shane Warne has never really been successful against the Indians.

Macgill is soooo much better than Hogg. If Macgill goes for a 100 runs, hogg will go for 200

i think it may be worthwhil playing 4 quicks at the MCG, Nicholson is bowling well at the moment and showed that he can cut down runs, something i feel the test attack needs without mcgrath.

Lee picks himself for this test, as i think does bichel, though he didn;t bowl well in the 2nd innings in the last test. above that i would play Nicholson and either Bracken, Noffke or tait.

Bracken has shown that he can take wickets with teh new ball - puts him 1 up on williams who just doesn't seem to take wickets.

Noffke has come back into form with both bat and ball for QLD - has been a good bowler for a long time too.

Tait is playing For Australia A in both forms, another wicket taker, would be expensive, but if he can take 2 or 3 top order wickets that would be worth alot more - though he has only played 9 FC matches, probably not experienced enough.

Inness is apparently down with Glandular so wouldn't be fit if the selectors did finally see sense.

who i would pick:
Hayden
Langer
Ponting
Martyn
Waugh (c)
Katich
Gilchrist
Lee
Nicholson
Noffke
Bichel

:o can bat to no 11 :)

Michael Clarke playing with the Indian bowlers at the moment, really taking to them... This could be the innings that swings the selectors towards him when it comes to Steve Waughs retirement...

yeah that was a great innings.

never looked troubled once. He just look's so brilliant no wonder he allready has so many fans.

He also seem's to me to be a very very good player of spin bowling somone who could do well in Sri Lanka.

Actually based on their most recent test outing India's 1st XI is-
Chopra
Sehwag
Dravid
Tendulkar
Ganguly
Laxman
Patel
Agarkar
Kumble
Nehra
Pathan

so its was actually 3 members away from a 1st XI:P

Regardless of who they had , India still really didnt play very well at all.

Ganguly joins the ever growing list of Clarke supporters :cool2:

Ganguly nominated Clarke as successor to Steve Waugh in the Australian middle order when the skipper retires in three weeks.

"He's a quality player and with Steve retiring he's got a chance to make a name for himself and I wish him all the very best," Ganguly said after Sunday's play.

"I've seen him in India (in One-dayers) and I saw him in 1999 when we played New South Wales and he was a young boy. Hopefully he can get a place in the Test side and go ahead in his career."
I think he will become one of the great players Or a very good player too after having seen almost all his one day innings and some pura cup matches till last year.

I have to say this since it is so widespread. If amit posts something, don't read! It will save you the time of the resulting argument which you will, no doubt, have an unyielding desire to take part in. There is no thought in this posts. If you see an amit post, expect it to be glorifying India. Since you know what to expect each time, it's no use reading. Unless you want a laugh.

"Kartik will destroy Australia in 10 balls." As much as I admire Murali Kartik and the Indian team, especially after that victory, I have to yawn at that.

I agree fully with you krkode!

Amit just talks jibberish all the time. Im not going to waste my tme, and lower my intelligence by reading his idiotic and unintelligent posts.

lol the reaction ppl like krkode and masterblaster take to amits is exactly what he wants. every1 knows he's just joking around with his comments...like he said..he's passionate about india and indian cricket. and getting a few serious people riled up is just an added bonus for him.

Is it just me of does anyone else think he's just trying to annoy Steve Waugh even more?

Murali Kartik is a good bowler and i would cetainly like to see him playing against Aus in the current test series.

Obviously noone can destroy any team in ten balls, so obviously what Amit said was a joke.
