This is quite an interesting and relevant comment. The thing about you CDAK is that although you share the Indian optimism, you approach it with a balanced head. :) That's good.
Yeah, after all one has to be stable somewhere to look at others with a steady head. So, naturally an Indian needs to be having Indian optimism, ausian needs to have ausoptimism.,.pakistanian.................

But aus were successful in the subcontinent ,other than in India.
Australia lost 2-1 in India
Australia lost 1-0 in Sri Lanka
Australia won 3-0 against Pakistan (however the matches were played at Colombo and Sharjah which isn't exactly home matches)
Australia is yet to play Bangladesh in Bangladesh

And your proof? India's bowlers bowled exceptionally to get Aus out for such a low score. What proof is there that if the Game had lasted longer Aus would have scored more?
On the first day, Aus scored 260odd-2 in 61 overs

Had there been 90 overs, they would've gone well past 350, and probably 400, as the Indians had no chance to regroup.

despite the drubbing u guys got in the 1st test, still.
What drubbing was that?

hayden, produced a once in a year type of an innings on the 5th day. even if sehwag had to face the indian bowling, he would have hit 99 off just 50 balls.
Once in a year, which is why he keeps doing it?
And if this Indian attack is so good, how come they'd concede 99 in 50 to anyone?

amits said:
to be realistic, it will be a 2-1 win to india. and i am not going to go too optimistic. i still think that aus to have the ability to pull 1 back and that too only due to poor umpiring.
Poor umpiring, based on what?

amits said:
aus have no hope in this series and stop giving odds from aussie bookmakers. india r the overwhelming favs for the series, atleast according to me.
Those odds came from English bookies - complete neutrals who exist to make a profit, and do, so obviously know what they're on about.

amits said:
india has better batsman and bowlers than aus.
So why didn't they bring them on tour then?

aussies, r just a bunch of arrogant guys who think that their team is going to dominate cricket forever.
Actually, I can never remember any Aussie poster post something along those lines on here unless in jest.

amits said:
this is shocking that an indians comments r being taken as "arrogant", but nothing is being done to arrogant comments made by aussie members like "iamdavid", "marc71178", etc.
I'm now an Aussie am I?

Thanks for telling me. I could have sworn I was English, and I seem to remember having many many disagreements with Aussies on here before.

Can someone be arrogant if they are boasting about someone else's achievements? Been thinking about it for a couple of mins and can't make my mind up.

I think everyone should change the word 'arrogance' in this thread to 'optimism' because it makes no sense. And this argument is going round in circles to infinitum.

Any weather reports for next Test venue and/or the other Tests?

I agree, Rik.

'Amit' - Engless, boundless
'Amitabh' - one of boundless splendour (probably means 'Ganguly')
'Amitesh' - 'Infinite god' - No. That's Ganguly
'Amits' - dunno. Probably means 'Infinite duck'

<quack> you called?
How do u know the meaning of all these Hindi/Sanskrit words?:)
Do u know the exact meaning of Ganguly? It's nothing but short form of a name (caste)"GANGOPADHYAY".British found it difficult to pronounce in the colony-days, so they shortened it.Otherwise, commentators would have found it difficult to say "Sourav Chandidas Gangopadhyay" just like "mpumalelo mbwangwa"...ouuuch

You said it. :) That's a faulty usage. But "optimism "cannot give the exact feeling what arrogance was used for.

LE is pretty good in Hindi/Sanskrit. You can find more of his hindi from DD articles for CricketWeb. I myself don't know some of the words which Eddie knows :wow: . Maybe he speaks Hindi at home :D

Approximate translation...

"I bow to the divine in you, master of the ducks.

How are you?"

and then a lot I just don't understand quite, but which I feel must be awfully nice.

I knew about 10 words of Hindi about 40 years ago, but thank you for the kind sentiments.

Confession - I used an online dictionary.

My father spoke Hindi a little when he lived in Malaysia in the early 1960's

every1 here is comical. amits is soo funny the way he BSes. but one thing is true, the australian team and all the bookies and all u aust. supporters have underestimated the Indian side. they are NOT what they were last time they toured here, they are a much improved, well-rounded side, who are more than capable of putting up a good fight if not beating the aust. side (who are rightfully the favs and are the best team in the world). any1 who says "aust would've won" or "ind woul'dve won" the first test is stupid, the match was even and could've gone either way, and anyway i think a draw was cool because assuming no more rain or draws, we have a guaranteed result to the series! i'm pretty sure it'll either be 2-1 to india or 2-1 to australia. there wont be a whitewash i dont think. ganguly's innings was really great both for himself, and for india. also dravid's 43 was huge for him. zaheer bowled beautifully except for a pretty oordinary start..which could've just been nerves. agarkar was also exceptional. nehra was uselesss...but ah well. for aust., i think langer's century was a crap, he got soo lucky. hayden should've been out for 8 in the second innings if it wasn't for that loser patel. swaugh was unlucky and played well in second innings. ponting got lucky too. i think india has the ability to bowl aust out twice, and they obviously have the batting to put up a good fight. i'm sooo looking forward to three more AWESOME test matches, just like all aust-ind series always are!

Atlast here's somebody who sounds more realistic. Amit would be very happy to welcome the aus's message which consider India is also capable of winning the series. welcome..

best ever post made on cricketweb.net forums :)

i quite liked this -
hayden should've been out for 8 in the second innings if it wasn't for that loser patel.
this is y i have been saying - kick patel out. he is just a useless wicket keeper.

nice to c an aussie taking this series in a realistic way. it will be a 2-1 result in this series. the only difference is that, i said india and u said any team can win it.

well done, jagaways and thanks for bringing some realism out from both sides.

another thing, r u an indian australian or a real australian ?
