By my calculations it must have been past 2am (unless the clock is playing up again)

To me that's the sign of an insomniac...
It was exactly 2.59 am Australian Eastern Standard Time.

I frequently make posts later than that , dosenr make me an insomniac.

Murali Kartik go the ulitmate 27th birthday present by being called up into the Indian squad and he may even play against Australia

Surely he has a cool head. and going by logic when something is cool it freezes and cannot perform any action. same is the case with Jagway. Heis mr. cool(fool)

I think in the upcoming test australia wont score anything less than 500. every acclaim tat india is getting now will go at once.i think india will get a good thrashing in the second test.(I love to be proved wrong) :D :duh:

By all reports the pitch is going to be a batting paradise. It might suit India to go for another draw.

look u aussie RNI, get this into ur head that INDIA WILL WIN THE NEXT TEST.

i dount if aus can hit over 400. india will just blow them off for less than 250 with kartik taking 5 wickets and zaheer 4, before india hit 500+ on a good batting pitch at adelaide.

Amits, you do have some strange ideas at times.

I take that back.

Delete 'at times'.

amit, one can understand ur optimism about the Indian team, but the prediction about Karthik is something to be rethought. He may be ,currently, the better LHspinner in India, but he is an average spinner only (similar to Raju and not like maninder or shastri). I think he may not able to penetrate into the aus like what H'singh did last time.

I think it was in 1991 series, India made aus to do follow-on( in the last test inwhich Shastri got double hundred and manjaekar scored 100.) while aus were dominating the first 4 tests.

You are talking about the Sydney test in 1991, where Shastri got a double-hundred and Sachin(not Manjrekar) got a hundred, but India batted second and so the question of making Aus follow-on didn't even arise. That was the match where Shane Warne made his test debut, and got tonked for some 150 odd runs.

Probably mine is an erratic memory.(I've to check my 12 yr old diary.I remember India made 500+.The match was in and around newyear time.)But I just wanted to say India could/can perform and dominate in Aus.

But this is an entirely different Australian side and an entirely different Indian side.

Obviously.. This Indian team is better in batting and the old aus team was better in bowling.

Are you comparing the Indian side with the old Indian or with the current Aussies?

Same with bowling, are you saying the old Aussies bowlers are better than the current lot?

I compared old IND VS new INDIA and old AUS Vs new Aus.
THe aus team which is playing against India now,is clearly weaker than the Old aus team in bowling.

Debatable, only because McGrath and Warne are out and Lee is half fit :)

I am not old enough to remember the 91 Aussies too strongly (except the world "Alderman" causes nightmares).

But that would be from '89 in England wouldn't it?

No wonder they won the series 3-0 if there were 91 of them :O

Like I said, I don't remember them well. Wasn't Alderman still playing in 1991. I have one memory of that series, sitting in my dressing gown, watching the highlights, seeing those yellow duck thingies all over the place when England batted. :(
