I think with Rahane is that he's so easy in playing the shots that he does that at times when he doesn't get it right he looks loose. It's the same with Rohit sharma except rohit doen't score nearly as much.

But he gets so many boundaries off those same deliveries, yes occasionally he will get out nicking to slips or at cover (esp ODI cricket this has happened alot) but then he scores a ton of runs with the same approach.

No you just can't play those shots. Almost got out and then the shot he played before the boundary off the next over was bad too. This is tests where you need to tighten the game.

See runs come any way as you last in tests. You give your wicket easily though and the team gets into trouble.

Nah he needs to keep going the way he is, let him play the way he's most comfortable playing.

Haha, Rahane actually gets into a pull position more than he defends v. the short ball which is crazy at test level in Australia and he only filters whether to follow through with the pull or not after the shot is partially complete which leaves him in a vulnerable position. Really needs to learn to curb his instincts.

India needs to make at least 500 here. If we do not lose another wicket it is an okay session considering we have racked up some quick runs. Could have been far worse.
