Was just the perfect to finish to a day of drinking, had a tactical nap at about 7pm and it all worked out wonderfully.

My family went to bed after about an hour, phoned my friend when they were about 6 down and just laughed down the phone.
I missed it because the missus doesn't have Sky :(

Was keeping up to date on cricinfo, think I went to bed just before the carnage started.
My family were asleep, I was about to go to bed but then Jimmeh got Hussey and my cheer woke everyone up. Everyone came down and watched us bowl them out for 98 before piling 150 on :)

Best Christmas ever that was. Cannot wait for this Test Match to start.
I despise you all.

And if I read that right, they're coming back to Australia in 2014...

ed: that's technically three years from now.

this has got to be most boring gimh prediction in history
I've got no horse in this race (although I am supporting one of the sides) which means I made it with my head not heart. TBH it's very rare I make predictions when we're not involved; I don't normally get time to follow series that don't feature us but with me off for at least the first Test I've been following this thread since I came back

Also I wouldn't want to breach my probation :p

On a separate note, loving the Boxing Day nostalgia. Having been up since about 4 on Xmas morning it was a hard slog and had to take a few naps but watching Jimmy getting Hussey, and the subsequent running like a chicken celebration, must be one of the best moments in the history of sport. Think I knew the Ashes were staying home right there and then and remember Smitteh posting 'cya ashes' or something. Glorious.

They have Lankans in July but after the its Saffies in November of 2013. Dravid and Laxman will definitely retire by then. However, I wouldn't put it past sachin to carry on even till the English away series in summer of 2014.

Well, I guess it depends how much he wants the 100th 100...

I am not so confident about either of those bowlers from whatever little I have seen of them. The last time I saw Dinda, he seemed to have a jump that took away all his momentum rather than add to it. Vinay Kumar, I expect him to be canon fodder on these tracks. I do not think he is wily enough to be a PK or Zaheer.
Dinda's action is unusual, but when the ball comes out, it can be fast-medium with a heap of outswing and zip to it.

Vinay Kumar will do well in Australia - He is actually a good test bowler but highly underestimated because of his lack of pace. Not so much suited for ODIs and T20s though.
Unfortunately, I am also sceptical about Vinay. I used to hold the view posed here by ganeshran, but his poor performance in the warm up game fills me with unease.
