Usa dream of being in the world cup is over,

Shame on Dainty and other administrators for picking up sucha old team,

That is it cricket has no where to go in usa unless a white man start playing it.

There is a still a possibility though that the result will be changed in the Canada vs. Namibia match. Namibia has complained of bad scoring in the 45th over, but the committee decided to stick with the current result. Now Namibia has gone to court and their case will be heard there...

Bermuda look like they're in the Group A box seat. As for the playoff? It ain't gonna be a Group A side, so it's between Canada and Namibia - it's all down to John Davison.
Namibia do have JB Burger last time i checked....

Explain, please...

I'm not too up to speed on the US cricketing set-up other than the fact that there's been a serious ruckus amounting to a power-struggle going on of late. Are you suggesting that it in itself was racially motivated, and that's the prime reason for the USA's unimaginative selection and dismal performance? Also, is that likely to be the case for the U-19's?

Genuinely interested now. I've just not taken the trouble in the past to dig through the mire - I just took it to be the usual (ho hum) corporate greed thing.

I think CP's garbled point was that most people who play cricket in the US are ex-pats. Until "normal" Americans who aren't ex-pat subcontinentals or west indians start playing cricket, they aren't going to be competitive.

Not a chance in the world, my friend, unless someone could prove that there was deliberate cheating - and even then.....

On reflection, not even then.

Funniest racist comment by Bob I've ever heard! And I've heard a few

I don't think it's racist actually, it's just a bit poorly worded. He's just trying to say that nobody who plays cricket in America is "actually American", insofar as they weren't born there. There's no grassroots cricket in America, just expats, so it's never going to go anywhere since if someone from Pakistan was good enough to play international cricket they'd be playing for Pakistan.

Damp Squib Day today, it seems. Netherlands and Canada are having lunch without having played, same goes for Namibia and Scotland.
Only Denamrk vs. UAE and Uganda vs. Bermuda have started but rain has stopped play.

Tomorrow's reserve day will be needed by the looks of it.

It looks like there will be some action after all. Netherlands vs. Canada scheduled to start in 25 minutes as a 35 overs a side game.

Scotland also in to bat in a 33 overs game against Namibia. Ideal scenario: Netherlands and Namibia win today. More likely scenario: rain.

What happens if these matches are abandoned today? Will they be replayed tomorrow?

De Grooth goes for his second duck. NL 18/1 off 5. Zuiderent off to another good start, Van Bunge in. These two should do the hard work in the absence of Ten Doeschate.

That's a pity.... I want Namibia to qualify

Holland 187-9 in their 35 overs
Canda 36-1 in 8 overs.. Looks like a close contest.. I don't know if Davison is out though.

Scotland 236-7 in their 33 overs.
Namibia 56-1 in 10 overs.. Looks like Scotland are going to go through.

Papua New Guinea 127-7 in 23 overs
Looks like Oman might be headed for their first and only victory of the ICC trophy..

Davison is out for 2.

Netherlands vs. Canada will be too close for comfort, I fear.
Yes, I'm inclined to agree. You've got to get the duck's favourite Canadian out

(see WC2003 for such classics as "Chumney sweeps")
