*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Yes looking increasingly unlikely that this Test is going to see anymore cricket today. Such a shame a really competitive and compelling series is going to ultimately be decided by the weather and deny us a showpiece shoot-out at the Oval. Not that the Aussies will be complaining and I don’t blame them. They weren’t looking the same team this Test and things appeared to be catching up with them, a draw is all they need and if the weather decides that I’m sure they’ll still be delighted!

18 years ago , a lot of kids wouldn't be able to remember Slippy ..
2005 ashes was very important after Australia lost that series they kind of lost there belief that they could beat England in England and they have not won a test series in England since then.

5days of rain at the oval and Aus don't just retain, but win the ashes, ending the 26 year thingy along the way. Where's the beast from the east when you need it

The rain in the actual North. Aka not the midlands that is Manchester. Is blowing southwards.

So the Ashes are retained.

Biblical in London next week so the Aussies win the series thanks to rain.

POTS the weather

Everyone acting like Aussies lucky mofos gonna pinch the Ashes 2-2 with the rain draw after getting flogged. Could also easily still end up 3-1 though and then noone will give a **** about this game.

If next week's game is also a washout this is yet another own goal for the ECB who wanted the greatest contest in cricket done and dusted before the height of summer so that they could roll out their pathetic 16.4 tournament.

This is something that needs to be addressed urgently. Too late for The Ashes of course but this stupid scheduling must never be allowed to happen again.

What idiot(s) thought it would be a good idea to have an Ashes series finish early in the Summer?

As a neutral it’s great to see white ball cricket been given a role in trying to grow our sport and get more youngster watching and playing the game. Credit must go to the ECB for this.
