I don't think they bowled awfully at these two tbh. Honestly they could bowl a few more short to Woakes but no surprise they're reluctant to go there again.

It doesn't look that hard to bat. There's some movement and bounce but nothing outrageous - none of the wickets have really been to magic balls or anything like that.
You say that about the batting but we haven’t gotten over 300 much this series. And most our batters aren’t in form and the tail has been weak. It’ll be tough for us still both teams missed big opportunities this session

We've gotten to 300 three times with two incomplete innings as well

Won’t be enough this time we need a 400 and the top 4 to step up not 1 or 2 people an innings. Seems a decent pitch if we bat sensibly with some aggression. We could get bowled out similar to how England have

The pace Eng have batted if they notch 300 Aus could get somewhere near parity by this time tomorrow. And then it will be interesting to see with 3 days left if Eng still try to score at 5-6 an over which is roughly 450 runs per day I.e. no need to bat that fast for the result. Although the weather forecast might give them an extra license to do that.

I recall a George Dobell quote yonks ago describing England's reckless batting as like "trying to drive to the gas station as fast as possible before the gas runs out". Seems apt.

Aus have come back twice with their bowling this innings we can’t let them off again. Think it’s gotta he Starc and Murphy to bowl after tea

Dave: "The average first innings (1 of 4) score at The Oval in the CC this season is 274 across 5 matches, although in four of those cases Surrey batted second and scored avg 343. Combined 1st and 2nd innings avg of 314 so it's hardly been a batter's paradise this year. 300 doesn't seem too far away given Australia's difficulties mopping up the tail, and having been put into bat it would be at least competitive."
Per Dave at cricinfo. Seems like bat 2nd is a good shout but we are miles away from competitive if CC is anything to go by
