All well and good but not strengthening at the back looks like a bad move to me.I'm with the journos tbh. Wenger's own mismanagement backed him into a lose-lose situation in which both choices deserve criticism. There's no getting round the fact that the club is a mess.
I think the awful awful truth is that Liverpool's management are miles ahead of everyone else. Getting Keita and Salah for 75m~ in this window is a joke.
That sounds like a big shift from the end of last season. Do you still have that enormous guy at CB? I thought having him pretty much ruled out playing anything expansive.I almost feel sorry for Prem fans whenever this first international break comes around. You wait all this time for some footy and then boom, gone.
Still, there's always Tranmere V Dover to keep you entertained tomorrow evening. We're a bit like the non-league Arsenal (circa 2010) at the minute. Lots of pretty (relatively) play and little end product. Up the whites.
Yeah it's definitely not ideal. I think it'll cost them a good tilt at the title this year. But if they manage to get Van Dijk in next summer they're set up really well for 2018/19. That might be better than overpaying to get in someone they're not sure about. All well and good but not strengthening at the back looks like a bad move to me.
Dreading tomorrow, our keeper is in the England under 21 squad so we have to play the reserve and he let 2 in on Tuesday at Coventry. The sort of day when you go away and gift a first win of the season to the opposition. Wish we had a couple more internationals so the game could be called off. take a draw now.I almost feel sorry for Prem fans whenever this first international break comes around. Wonder if Coutinho or Van Dijk will do the same at Liverpool and Southampton?Sanchez now apparently threatening to refuse to play for Arsenal again lol
The only way Sanchez doesn't go and start every game is if Chile don't qualify. So if anything he might just want to keep himself fresh. But tbh I think he's the type of player who can't help but put the effort in.World Cup season, they'll all play.
I don't understand this. And Rooney has been arrested for drink driving.
Van Dijk's lot won't be going to the World Cup.World Cup season, they'll all play.
Driving a Beetle.I don't understand this.
No issue with him going on the lash, but surely if you are in that position with his money, you have a personal driver?
The problem with this is that City thought they had. They had a bid accepted, and had representatives in Chile with a contract signed and a medical done. He told his team mates for Chile, his family and his friends that he was signed, it was done. They were holding on an announcement so Arsenal could spend their time looking for someone to bring in. Even as late as 3 hours before the window closed the reliable City ITK's were posting that Arsenal hadn't contacted City about reneging, and that the deal was still done.It really shouldn't have been a transfer City were banking on and if it was they should've tried harder to actually get him rather than pissing about and deciding to blame Arsenal for keeping their best player

Van Dijk might not make it either. Your point definitely applies to Coutinho though.
I don't follow international football at all so had no idea, haha.Van Dijk's lot won't be going to the World Cup.
Yeah, unless he can fire us to the Champions League places next season this will be like burning 60m in the centre of the pitch and I can't see us getting there. Not like we'd spend the money anyways I suppose, so bleh. It's a shame IMO as I really don't see this working out for either club, it might be a bloodbath for Arsenal who might literally gain nothing from keeping Sanchez as a player and then lose him for free or for **** all in January.
Yeah, we are now playing three centre backs which I think plays to his strengths, and ours. Scored two in both the last two games so looks like we may be on the right track tbf. But the last 20 minutes on Monday we created a chance each time we attacked and only converted one. Worries me when that happens as when we come up against the better sides, the goals dry up when we're playing like that. That sounds like a big shift from the end of last season.
