Arsenal will be competing with Stoke, West Brom and Southampton for 7th place.
Think Everton are the most overrated side in the league currently. They have like two players that would start for Arsenal at best. Only way they finish above us is if the players just completely down tools, which I guess isn't that impossible, but we'd probably fall even lower than 7th if they do, a la Chelsea 15/16.

Is Wenger really all to blame though? He doesn't have complete autonomy over signings and an unlimited budget does he?

I think Everton are hugely overrated as well actually. One of the most one-dimensional teams in the top half. I'd be surprised if Arsenal weren't in the mix for 4th tbh, they could have a Chelsea season from a few years back but that's only if the dressing room completely implodes. If it stays stable they're pretty talented still and should be there or thereabouts.

It looked like they did that against Liverpool. Or am I being harsh?

I don't think they downed tools. Liverpool's high octane pressing game has to be contained or they'll swamp anyone. Apart from one Cup Final against Manure Wenger doesn't seem to want to compromise.

They got utterly demolished in previous seasons and still made top 4. They're not set up for big games but usually put away weaker teams quite well.

I miss the days when we'd dick the big teams but throw away points against the dross of the league.

Problem for them is that now there's more top teams than there used to be. There's 5 other genuine challengers for the top 4 now in Chelsea, United, City, Tottenham and Liverpool, all of which are undoubtedly better than they are IMO. Before there was only 3 or 4 at a time. I think they're going to struggle to get there this season, especially if this Sanchez thing drags out (fwiw I don't think it will, he's a pro and will do his best, as is his way), but I don't think it's impossible and I don't think they'll go close to finishing behind Everton. Everton are the Cerberus of the Premier League elite.

Yeah agree with all of this. I was going to elaborate on why Everton actually suck but then remembered I've banged on about it in here for weeks. The media consensus seems to be that Lukaku will be huge for United but Everton won't miss him at all? It doesn't add up.

So 5 games in and we have 13 points. Guess we aren't going to finish bottom like the bookies and press predicted then. Salop.

Watching a bit of this, and not saying this because of any political gripes with Gimh, but some of these Tranmere players seem a tad over-weight and sluggish because of it, Dover look the professional League outfit, fitness-wise.

**** that Tranmere-Exeter double looks a classic example of a one-sided bad bet now.

New round of LMS, we're all so bad it ends really early, so anyone can win.

International weeks are so exciting aren't they, as the posts in here show.
