Fox Sports are our Dark Knight.

Think the best value for me might be a $40 sim only plan, plus $15 for the EPL, plus $5 for the ********* device thingy.

Anyone following the Optus pricing debacle re: Prem broadcast rights? If you aren't an Optus post-paid mobile or Internet customer you're ****ed, if you wanna watch it on a TV you're paying over $2k over two years. Next season is gonna be rough on most of us fans. Not really looking forward to dodgy streams every weekend.
Scandalous.

BARNES OUT
Here's hoping it absolutely tanks and they're forced to sell the rights to not go bankrupt or something. Not a fan of foxtel by any stretch of the imagination and am desperate for some competition but Optus have royally ****ed this one up.

i'm optus mobile with no foxtel so i was cautiously optimistic (particularly given the CA live pass was quite good) but yeah this is pretty horrid

Article mentions how they are going to be developing own apps, mediums to broadcast, etc.

This is the key, if it starts bad, it's going to be an even larger PR disaster.

i think the mere mention of developing their own apps is enough to scare people, given the disaster that is the bein sports app

He does have a release clause that is apparently considerably lower than his actual worth. I think that has been confirmed. No idea if that's the actual figure though.

Arsenal Fan TV claims Kante has a £20m release clause in his contract. No way.
Arsenal Fan TV claiming they can poach the best player from the Champions when they haven't even guaranteed CL footie for next season.

Optus thing is absolute BS. I'm luckily in a position where my broadband contract is up so i'm free to change at no extra cost, But apparently my address in Queenslands largest inland city is not available for Optus NBN, so they can **** right off.

edit: i.e. no EPL for me next year but for dodgy streams :(

My #hottake on Kante is that he's not that much better than Coquelin, just playing in a system that suits him more. Either way, I'd be trying to move the club in a different direction.

I agree with the general point that the Leicester system makes him look more exceptional than he is, but he's still in a totally different league to Coquelin. His work without the ball is probably slightly better anyway, but he regularly dribbles past players to set up quick counters and Coquelin almost never does that. In fact it might be the one thing Arsenal have missed most this season with Cazorla and Rosicky both out injured. He'd be a useful addition if you could get him, especially at £20m, but there might be others out there that are a better fit.

Coquelin is one of the most dribbly DMs in Europe tbh. Often uses it to get out of pressure and tight spaces. Kante does more because he plays a box-to-box role rather than as a pure holder, which is also relevant as I assume the fact he's black and makes lots of tackles means people are thinking of him as a DM and someone to play next to Cazorla/Ramsey/Wilshere.

Leicester just won the Premier League and we have European semi-finals so obviously in this thread we are talking about a potential Arsenal transfer that will probably never happen.

They will be more than happy next year when more people are putting ridiculous bets on bottom half teams to win the league.
