Yeah you can't argue with what Giroud has produced last 18 months. Elite level output, far better than many players who are considered genuine superstars. Biggest improvement has been in the big games. I remember in 13/14 he was basically a player who could contribute a decent number of goals and assists against rubbish sides and would be dog awful against the top sides. These days he scores against Liverpool, City and Neuer for fun, really great overall games in terms of hold up play as well.Arsenal had more quality but seemed to just not have an attack for long periods. I remember at 2-2 Mignolet was allowed to take the ball to the halfway line and hoof it into the box- no one closed him down and the team dropped right back into their own box. They've looked completely gassed for weeks now, being bailed out by little bits of genius from the front players.
Giroud so underrated. A bit like I was saying about Mata before, his limitations are so obvious that people miss the more relevant fact that his output is better than everyone but the absolute best.
Arsenal being completely gassed but still having won 7 out of their last 9 is why I find the bottlers stuff a bit weird. Have managed to get good results despite being pretty average/rubbish. Alexis, Rosicky and Elneny could be available against Chelsea though, so hopefully things will start improving on that front.
