Chelsea and Arsenal probably got the worst draw they could have gotten. City will be happy but I still wouldn't put much on them getting through.

Smaller teams progressing kind of seems nice, but it just means easier ties for the big three/four later on. No real plucky underdog can win the CL IMO.

How plucky are we talking? Gent, no, but it's open to anyone who can reach Atletico/Dortmund level.

There are a lot of routes to the final. I think for a side like (say) Benfica, Bayern and Barca are close to unbeatable over two legs. But you could see Juventus or Atletico taking out Bayern, and then Benfica taking out Juventus/Atletico in the next round. Then in the semis they might be facing PSG or Chelsea. It's harder than it used to be but "can't win it" is still a huge statement.

In fairness it's not many teams that progress all the way through the knockout games despite being hammered in almost all of them.

Mahrez. Ridiculous player. He's forced them to stand off by constantly skinning them for the first half hour, then he does that.
