*Official* English Football Season 2015-16

I think the hype would just be a result of an English player as good as Ozil existing tbh.
Haha well, maybe. But if history is anything to go by, hype tends to be based on a player's record rather than an assessment of their overall quality. Hence why people clamoured for Andy Johnson and Darren Bent to play for English despite them being absolutely rubbish.

Anyway, looks like another typical Arsenal match this. Can't see them scoring again somehow. Probably a 2-1 loss.

Hughes completely misinterpreted what the stats were saying though.
No doubt he did, he was a total idiot. I was just countering the wrong belief (IMHO) that stats are the preserve of the football intelligentsia, which some like to suggest.

Yeah nightmare game for Arsenal with Kosc and Sanchez breaking down. Wenger hasn't managed his squad well enough. I thought hamstring injuries were the ones you never ever take a risk on?

I'm wondering if there's a way to move him upstairs to a DoF role. He's world class on developing a philosophy and building a squad but makes too many mistakes on a game to game level.

Nobody here did suggest that. Not on this occasion anyway.

The hindsight brigade over Alexis is pretty annoying. People would've lost their **** if he'd started Campbell and Gibbs as the two wide men. At least Chamberlain is back now and Walcott will be soon.

Is it really a hindsight brigade? I felt like the whole world noticed he was on the edge of burning out.

But you probably follow a deeper well of dumb Arsenal fans than me. There's a level of **** opinion you can only handle from fans of your own club.

People kind of over play the issue though. You'd think he's the only top player who plays 90 minutes twice a week regularly. He also does this thing where you think he's dead and then suddenly nearly scores a hat-trick in the CL.

Yeah, I think it was fairly obvious that this was a bad call from the off.

Things like this are tricky to judge when on the outside looking in (everyone within the Arsenal setup, including Sanchez himself, might have indicated that he was good to go, for instance), but it's common knowledge that the bloke has been playing pretty much without a break for the best part of two years, and given that Wenger himself has already spoken about needing to rest him, this seemed like a rather ill-advised selection today.

This rather understates the amount he's played over the last 2 years tbh.
