*Official* English Football Season 2013-14

How many times have we heard that about an Arsenal signing this summer though? Until I see a player stood with Arsene Wenger, holding an Arsenal shirt with their name on the back, I'm not believing it. Really wouldn't surprise me if they end the summer only signing Sanogo and Flamini.

Odd, they both started last night.
Obviously giving them one final tryout to see if they are better than Bale, just in case.

Edit: Ozil also stormed off down the tunnel after being subbed apparently, sounds like he's done.

It's an open secret that Ozil wants out and has instructed his father to tout him to the Premier League.

United were apparently offered him last week, and said no.

That'd be funny if true. Fergie was fizzing at the bung for him back in 2010, and he's not exactly been a failure at Madrid. But we already have Kagawa on the bench so I guess it makes sense.

It'd be great if he came to the Premiership, he's a fascinating player to watch. One-footed, slow and a spectacularly poor finisher but his footballing intelligence and technique are so good he makes up for it.

Judging by the way they are (not) using Kagawa they are obviously not interested in that sort of player. Arsenal should definetly go for him, surley others would be interested though?

If Di Maria is available I am surprised there have been no links to Man United actually. Heard no mention of them going for a wide player all summer but I think they do with an upgrade.

Yeah, it's a strange one, that.

Rumour has it that Wenger has made Di Maria and Ozil his priority signings now. Apparently the fact that Podolski have scored 5 goals between them in 3 games has changed his mind about needing a new out and out forward, given that Walcott and Sanogo could also fill in up front.

Not a particularly wise strategy that if you ask me, but it would be a shame if Podolski and Giroud were to get phased out. I think both of them had a pretty decent first season (apparently they have about 40 goals between them now, pretty good for a first year and a bit) and that they both will get better, especially Giroud.

Ozil's exactly the kind of player you'd expect Arsenal to go after but miss out on.

Too much of a hot property.

I agree that our wingers haven't looked up to much lately but I still wouldn't want us to sign him. They just have so, so many options on the wing: Valencia, Nani, Young, Kagawa, Giggs, Zaha, Welbeck, Januzaj. A lot of them are coming off the back of terrible seasons but we only need a couple to find a bit of form and another winger would further block the development of some really promising players. It'd be worth doing it for someone with massive potential, hence we were still in for Hazard and Lucas, but not for Di Maria.

I reckon Moyes will play Valencia nearly every game. Such a Moyes-type player with his rigid positional sense and high defensive work rate.

Almost forgot Nani even existed I have to admit. I just rate Di Maria very highly, think he is comforably better than ones they have at present.

Looks like Ozil and Di Maria to Arsenal are both very much on the cards. I think I might do a backflip if this comes true.

Apparently #freeshinji was trending in Germany this week. It sucks that Moyes doesn't seem to have the imagination to fit him into a system, he'll end up going to Real Madrid and being incredible or something.

So Ozil is unhappy at Real Madrid, wants to go to the Premier League, isn't wanted at United and would be somewhat surplus at Chelsea?

This all sounds far too good to be true.

Edit: Ramsey having a decent start to the season.

Yeah, bit early to say, but may have to eat my words about him not being good enough to do a job in midfield on a full-time basis.
