I'll see how I feel about ManU next season with this appointment. I thought I might lessen on my hate without Fergie, but Moyes was so promoted above his status, and he got so much defence from the We need more British Coaches" brigade, that I couldn't help hating them just so much. He didn't even have Taggart's redeeming feature of playing decent football.

Van Gaal may change things.

Man Utd with a decent manager, which Van Gaal unquestionably is, and a decent amount of investment/wise purchases could see them quickly become a strong-ish force imo, and thus they will quickly become unlikable once more.

So apparently Aurier to Arsenal is a goer if Sagna leaves. Not sure how I feel about that. From what little I know of him he seems pretty decent, but there's something very Eboue about him.

...so England U17 just won the European Championship with a penalty shoot out in the final lol

To be fair all the pens were pretty decent

There hasn't been enough call for Eboue to come back tbh.

I've never seen Aurier play, but he won Ligue 1 young player of the year so he must be decent.

The whole Sagna fiasco is really frustrating actually. Really can't be assed with spending big on a young right back when we have two young ones waiting in the wings. Would've been great if Sagna had stayed until they were ready.

Liked the passing ability of the captain Ledson.

Roberts the lad from Fulham was quiet but he is a huge talent.

How many of the Chelsea/Liverpool lads will ever see first team football at their clubs?

But performances at U17 level don't predict how good a player will be at senior level at all. Check out the squads of previous winners and see how many you recognise.

I'd guess Martin Kelly. Perennially injured, not a right-back but every manager we've had seems to insist on playing him there so he looks even worse than he is. Still with us but I'd be amazed if that's the case in September. When he has played, he's looked absolute toilet.
