Spurs have been rubbish for a fair while. I think it's more the truth came home to roost and they were overachieving because of the fixture list. I think I heard they've not beaten a top 10 side away from home all season.

Of course the fact that the run started when Fabio resigned means that the media will continue to make excuses for him.

Have just checked this out, the only curent top ten team they've beaten away all season is Fulham.

Similarly, in their 6 games against the other 3 teams in the top four they have conceded 20 goals, and only avoided defeat once.

Van Persie pretty much a lock for the first one I should have thought. Not really sure who the young player award should go to. If Aguero and Silva had kept up their form throughout the season they'd be surefire winners. Chamberlain probably hasn't featured enough to really deserve it, Welbeck and Sturridge are both pretty ordinary so I'd rather not see them win it either. Bale massively overated, so would like to see Kyle Walker win it I think. Has been solid and dependable more or less all season.

Yeah, I don't either. I think the definition of 'young player' for the purposes of this award is a little off to be honest. In my mind the oldest you can be and still be a 'young player' is 22. Doesn't seem right that Aguero, who will be 24 in less than two months, should be eligible for this.

That makes Chamberlain's inclusion all the more strange though, seeing as by the end of January he had only made 2 Premiership appearances, and played 90 minutes in neither.

Four nominations too many for the main award. Van Persie and Daylight should be the only two names on the list.

Ox a bit of a joke nomination for the Young Player award IMO. A hell of a talent, no question, but given that he's started five League games all season and hasn't once played the full 90 minutes, his nom screams of being one for the England Hype Machine.

The Ox had probably just dissected Milan around the time the noms were returned, so he was fresh in the voters' minds.

Great news about Muamba, anyway.

Less so ****ing Wigan have just scored. Great break, tbf, even if they got jammy with the deflection.

It would help if they looked beyond the top 5 in the EPL. Especially for the Young Player award, where the short list looks very ordinary to me. Personally I don't rate Walker at all - dodgy in defence and poor delivery in the final third. On the times I've seen him, anyway. Just the latest in a long line of mediocre English right backs.
