Quite pleased to see Burnley sign up Charlie Austin from Swindon the day before we're due to play them. Quite looking forward to the County Ground tomorrow, in fact. Been over a year since my last away day - Norwich - and even longer since the last away win - Rotherham in May 09...

£23m - surprised Liverpool went that high after bidding only £12m initially.

Will be a decent replacement for Torres I guess. :p

Stop me if you've heard this one before.

Liverpool have confirmed that Torres has handed in a transfer request, and that they have rejected it.

Expecting a Rooney/Tevez-style resolution where Fernando signs an improved contract in the next couple of days.

Hi all, my first post on here :)

As an extremely passionate Sunderland supporter I'm still waiting for Muntari and Stéphane Sessegnon, even though they've been confirmed for about a week now, as well as Ricardo Fuller.

Torres and Drogba scares me ****less as far as the Champions League goes, but I must say if Roman stumps up a solid 35-40m for a player with his injury record and who has handed in a transfer request, you cut your losses and strengthen big time in the summer. Squad is crying out for some creativity in midfield and their fullbacks are poo. They heavily overpaid for Suarez and now we know why.

Apparently Spurs are willing to bid 23mil for Carroll, but think 9mil is too much for Forlan. Itstl.

Torres isn't worth anything like 35-40m. He's probably the best striker in the world when fully fit and on form but it's still far too much to pay for someone who might never find that kind of form again. A change of scenery might help but the fact that he's been so poor for Spain makes me think that's rather unlikely.

In Liverpool's position they surely have to sell. Torres is the icing on a cake they don't have.
