Can't say I enjoyed it, the one brief hope that Portsmouth might pull something off was dribbled pathetically into the legs of Petr Cech.

Actually, I think the sheer unspeakable direness of that penalty was enough to ruin it for me.

wtf Brummers? That's the best final of any cup competition I've seen in ****ing ages, there was actually ****ing shots, for one.
Have to agree, I found it to be very enjoyable. It was a lot like most recent Chelsea matches except without the influx of goals and thus it was fascinating.

RIP indeed. :(

Is there any neutral football fan that when it goes to extra-time in a big match, doesn't want it to go to pens? Entertainment value, particularly in P-Os is top for all sadists.

Barcelona vice president Rafael Yuste has come out and said they are hopeful of trying to sign Cesc Fabregas and David Villa. If an offer comes in for Cesc, I hope Arsenal turn around and demand as many good players they can get from Barca.

The play-offs normally produce the games of the season from a neutral POV don't they? Excruciating being in them, though.

One of the best games of footy I've ever watched has to be the Sunderland-Charlton 4-4 at Wembley in 98. Such a brilliant game.

My old man bet on 4-3 either way for that game. I think he got 100/1. That must've been pretty excruciating...

If the resulting fallout from Triesmangate was that the Daily Mail was forced out of business, it would be worth losing out on 2018.

Oh well one can dream

My theory is the tabloids want us to fail because they get more mileage out of it. News of The Screws set their fake sheik on Sven just before the last WC too, if memory serves.

Cesc requests a transfer. Heh, **** just got real for the Arsenal management. This is going to be a brutal panic summer.

All over newsnow atm man. Lots of Arsenal fan journos slitting wrists on twitter right now too. Arsenal forums have been a peach to read as well.

End of the day you have potentially your club's greatest ever playmaker in history and you surround him with Denilson, Diaby, Eboue and Silvestre. This was always on the cards.

Perversely, I'm sort of excited to see how this all pans out, first summer in ages where he can't sit on his arse and make do with what he has.

I thought he might give it one more season. Will be interesting to see the price he goes for - reports are claiming that because Fab is chasing the move then Barca will only be offering £30-35m.

Well they've just signed David Villa for £34m. I don't think Fabregas will go for as much as that.

Not sure we'll even sell him tbh. Just must be a huge kick in th enuts when your best player tells you he doesn't think you're good enough for him anymore .

Going to be the busiest World Cup for Arsenal in a long long time no matter what happens.

Yeah, if they don't offer enough we won't sell him
City want Milner for £24m so **** me sideways if it's true Barca won't offer a deal worth more than £30m, including player exchanges.

Wenger does need to pull his finger out though, is the first time ever I've seriously contemplated he might not be the right man to take us forward.

Not the worst signings in the world are they really? Barca to be amazingly strong next year, don't think either will struggle to fit in.

Fergy saying he might not be buying anyone this year, not sure if this is true or not of course. Would be worried if I was a United fan if this is true.
