In other news, I can't believe John Hartson has brain and testicular cancer at just 34 :-O
Jesus. Poor guy. Sadly testicular cancer not that uncommon in young blokes, but the rate of recovery and survival v good if it's caught early on. Alan Stubbs and Neil Harris returned to play after treatment.

That it's in his brain says there's been metastasis tho, which is bad news.

All the best big fella.

Reports everywhere that Citeh are bidding an insane amount for Ade.

Knowing our luck though, even if we do accept an offer the ****face won't be able to put his signature in the box and the transfer won't go through.
£22m the reported fee.

But it's the £170k/week wages that is the really staggering number.

And to echo Craig and Brumby - best wishes to John Hartson. Hope he pulls through.

No more signings. (Y) Thanks for paying off our debt Ronaldo. Looking forward to some real seasons fighting it with the crappy sides for Europa Cup spots. The Champions League was nice and being a top four side was also nice for the last two decades. I guess all good things have to come to an end. Really looking forward to seeing how the youngsters go this season.
Agree with you on one thing and that's excitement about how our youngsters go. Can't believe you think this squad won't be top four though - United will still be the team to beat this year.

And I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there was one more signing, despite what Fergie said. He also made key points about "value" and the fact that there is still nearly two months of the transfer window left where anything could happen.

Roma's Alberto Aquilani has been touted by Liverpool as the replacement of Xabi Alonso should he leave for Real Madrid.

I'd heard Cambiasso mentioned but not Aquilani - would Roma sell though?
Unless the offer is insane, there is next to no chance Esteban will be leaving. Why Real Madrid never valued him, I don't know, but that what happens when you have a clown like Perez in charge. Liverpool look to Aquilani I think they are wanting to hold out for no less then £18m.

In other news: Vieira open to Spurs switch

That will be the reaction of Arsenal fans seeing their former captain play for their arch rivals. There was a rumour when Vieria was first learning English (I read something about it in 4-4-2 magazine years ago), one his first words were "**** Tottenham". Don't think it is true though.

Wow. Scaly must be ill, thought we'd have had at least a token "mercenary" comment by now.

Disappointing, to put it mildly. Fair to say we saw the best of him tho.

He really should join his mate Claude Makelele at PSG then go to T*ttenham and face the wrath of Arsenal fans. Judas would be putting it mildly. Clearly money is not a problem for Vieria (I would be surprised if he ever really ever has to work again for the rest of his life).

Adebayor - Tevez - Robinho - RSC - Bellamy

Maybe Sturridge is glad he took the money and ran to Chelsea.

Tevez's presentation is at 2pm British time.

Maybe Citeh are planning some 2-3-5 formation
3 - 2 - 5 IMO. No matter how many goals they give away, I guess they will score more. And £170k a week?! :-O I say it once, I will say it a thousand times, what credit crunch? No player is worth that amount.

A whole lot of Premiership-proven quality there - among all the other positives of having that kind of strike force, the fact that they won't require settling into English conditions is a big plus.

City in from 20/1 to 16/1 to win the League next season, as of today.

Smitteh might be a lot happier when I enjoy those Saturday afternoon chats with him next season, just quietly
