Yeah, this. Laughed at them tonight, more pressure on poor old Rafa.If Gerrard and Torres are still out, I wouldn't fear a rebound, but there's never a good time to play Liverpool away really.

Obviously that would be dependent on whether or not some members have a 96% good post completion rate.I think if people whinge less about people whingeing about people arguing there would be 3/5 the amount of pages tbh
Let's not ignore the fact that Carragher had a 96% pass completion rate and the net spend is irrelevant as long as the players purchased have played well.Hahahahaha @ Liverpool.

That game report says it all. Throughout it bangs on about a club that has one of the biggest net spends over the past 5-6 years being 'up against it' when they're AT HOME against fairly unremarkable European opposition because cowardly thug got injured along with Torres.
I'm not one to defend Liverpool but Reina had removed the beach ball. Put it in his goal though. As Sunderland are attacking Reina is outside his 6 yard box and then slowly starts to back up. The ball blows out to his right, Sunderland are coming down the left so he focuses there. Stuff happens, ball gets out to Bent, he shoots, Reina goes into position and ball hits ball and presto. On the beach ball goal, should it have been disallowed?
It seems strange to me that a team can neglect to remove a large impediment in the middle of their own goalmouth, safe in the knowledge that if a goalbound shot hits it, there will merely be a bounce ball on the edge of the area.
I'd be worrying about how long is left if I were him.
Yeah, but it was in response to a comment about net spend - thus it should've included cash made from sales as well (which is actually fairly considerable to be fair)The list was of Liverpool's signings and their fees, not their sales.
Yeah sorry mate, I realised you weren't actually responding to me after I'd posted!Yeah, but it was in response to a comment about net spend - thus it should've included cash made from sales as well (which is actually fairly considerable to be fair)
Now the £80m for Ronaldo has been banked yes, but probably not before then...Liverpool definitely make up some ground when sales are included, though TBF I believe even their net spend under Benitez is third in the League behind only Chelsea and City.
It absolutely should have been disallowed. Sure Reina should have kicked it away or popped the thing, but there is a rule of the game that explicitly states that when the ball comes into contact with a foreign object on the field the result will be a drop ball. You would think the rule would apply especially in the case of the deflection being the key contributor to a goal. It's not a grey area this one.On the beach ball goal, should it have been disallowed?

Is there any reason that money shouldn't count? Now the £80m for Ronaldo has been banked yes, but probably not before then...
