BARNES OUT
I personally love how selling Keane back to Spurs has bitten Rafa on the ass almost straight away. Now who's gonna play behind Torres? Kuyt? Babel?

Here's your trophy, Fergie.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Benayoun do it, not that I think he'll do as good a job as Keane could have done.

Yeah its pretty much over, although I never thought that Liverpool were capable of winnning it anyway, Think Chelsea and Arsenal are bound to find some form at some point but they are already way out of it and are can't match United's quality anyway.. Would be good to see Liverpool completely disintegrate now and fall out the top 4, Seems unlikely but you never know.

Norwood's on Fire
Platini could never do such a thing, pretty sure there are 100s of EU laws stopping him

The ITV ****-up was amusing, play came on about 5 seconds before the goal where I was. Was well funny, I was in a little bar full of reds & blues (just happened to be there, didn't actually go out to watch that ****) and they were all going craizy

The Flowers of Manchester

One cold and bitter Thursday in Munich, Germany,
Eight great football stalwarts conceded victory,
Eight men will never play again who met destruction there,
The flowers of English football, the flowers of Manchester

Matt Busby’s boys were flying, returning from Belgrade,
This great United family, all masters of their trade,
The pilot of the aircraft, the skipper Captain Thain,
Three times they tried to take off and twice turned back again.

The third time down the runaway disaster followed close,
There was slush upon that runaway and the aircraft never rose,
It ploughed into the marshy ground, it broke, it overturned.
And eight of the team were killed as the blazing wreckage burned.

Roger Byrne and Tommy Taylor who were capped for England’s side.
And Ireland’s Billy Whelan and England’s Geoff Bent died,
Mark Jones and Eddie Colman, and David Pegg also,
They all lost their lives as it ploughed on through the snow.

Big Duncan he went too, with an injury to his brain,
And Ireland’s brave Jack Blanchflower will never play again,
The great Matt Busby lay there, the father of his team
Three long months passed by before he saw his team again.

The trainer, coach and secretary, and a member of the crew,
Also eight sporting journalists who with United flew,
and one of them Big Swifty, who we will ne’er forget,
the finest English ‘keeper that ever graced the net.

Oh, England’s finest football team its record truly great,
its proud successes mocked by a cruel turn of fate.
Eight men will never play again, who met destruction there,
the flowers of English football, the flowers of Manchester.

International football is back again. I see Spain have picked their best possible squad. Too bad Stevie G, Hargreaves, Walcott are out, was really looking forward to England's best taking on En Espanyol..

Squad i would like to see Capello pick, presuming no one is injured this weekend:

GK: James, Green, Hart/Foster/Kirkland (who cares)

DEF: Terry, Rio, Cole, Johnson, Upson, Woodgate, Bridge, Brown/Richards

MID: SWP, Barry, Lampard, Carrick, Becks, Young, Downing/Taylor, Lennon

STR: Heskey, Rooney, Agbonlahor, Bent

FINAL XI:

------------------------------------------------------------JAMES---------------------------------------------------------

JOHNSON--------------------------RIO---------------TERRY-----------------------------COLE

SWP----------------------------------BARRY/CARRICK------LAMPARD--------------------AGBONLAHOR

----------------------------------------------------------ROONEY--------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------HESKEY----------------------------------------------------

edit: If Rooney aint fit, call up Sturridge.

Terry/Ferdinand perhaps? And if Ashely Young is fit/not suspended (you listed him as a midfielder), why the hell would you put Agbonlahor on the left wing ahead of him?

Terry/Ferdinand perhaps?
Lol, my bad. Shall edit.

And if Ashely Young is fit/not suspended (you listed him as a midfielder),
He is isn't he. A general winger, that has found major success playing on the left.

why the hell would you put Agbonlahor on the left wing ahead of him?
Well Gabby started out on the left in ENG last international vs Germany & was impressive in that role.

Young may play their game after game for Villa. But he isn't a natural left-footed option, he's just a winger that plays out on the left. The only difference between Young towards the likes of SWP, Lennon, Bentley is that he has been more consistent in a set role over the past few years.

But Walcott & Agbonlahor are their superiors right now. So Gabby is a MUST start from on the wing ahead of anyone vs Spain.

If Rooney aint fit though, he should play up front with Heskey & Young/Downing could start out left.
