*Official* English Football Season 2008-2009

Yep 19yo scored with 2-3 minutes to go.

Gerrard was taken off with a hamstring injury after about 15 minutes, suppose it'll allow him to concentrate on his impending court case.

Torres played like he was injured (which he probably is).

Liverpool look like they're done for this season. Unless they fluke something in Europe again they don't have the bite to avoid dropping yet more points in the league. They were second best against Everton even before Lucas was sent off.

I remember watching a couple of games in Brazil when Lucas was playing for Gremio. Hard to believe he's the same player, he looks garbage these days.

Ah a bit like Gilberto, he's so under appreciated for all the ground he covers etc etc. Doesn't matter that he couldn't pass water to save himself.

He seems to be the hate figure for Liverpool fans for this season (they always have to have one). Tim Vickery who is an expert on South American Football says that Lucas showed great potential in South America but that is not really in evidence thus far in the Premier league. One thing he did say is that Lucas is brilliant when he grabs hold of a game (something he doesnt do enough) and that he can make excellent runs into the opposition penalty area. Unfortunately there is another player at Liverpool who does the same thing.

Yeah but there's players who can actually play like Mathieu Flamini who cover a lot of ground too. They also score occasionally, and sometimes break up attacks, and lose the ball less often, and feed the ball to dangerous players.

Just because Lucas does one of the many roles a central midfielder should do doesn't make him a half-decent player. It certainly doesn't make him a player Liverpool want if they're not taking the piss about winning the title.

I swear Lucas was about to cry three or so times in that game. Admittedly someone stood on his foot on one occasion but it was pretty weird seeing a guy screaming at the ref to the point his face was bright red every time someone touched him. I mean, I watch Ronaldo week-in-week-out and this was something else. Would prefer an arm-flapping sulker to a red-faced wuss. You're playing against your local rivals, did you expect a cuddle? Needs to hang out with Mascherano a bit, man up and all.

Fair enough, 49.9% of Merseyside is happy :p

Some more Arshavin hilarity:

If I had it in my power to introduce a ban on women driving cars and to withdraw all their licences, I would do it without thinking twice,” he said in his book.

In my opinion a woman and a man are two absolutely different creatures.

I like tall, slim girls with narrow thighs and tiny bums. If a girl is like this I do not pay attention to her breasts. Hair colour doesn’t matter either. What is really important is her style and manners.

I used to be afraid of darkness. In fact I’m still afraid of it.

I won’t jump into water from a tenmetre diving board.

I’m generally scared of it. Not even of how deep it is — but the creatures that are maybe hiding in it.

Playing Football Manager I would take on a team from the English lower division and promote it to the Premier League, where I would win the cups and titles."

Seriously loving this guy already. Even if he flops like a regular Jeffers I can't help but like the guy. Seems like great value.
