*Official* English Football Season 2008-2009

Errrm no:

It was even reported that way by the news media at the time too:
Glad you've cleared that up. If Pederson says he didn't dive and the media don't report it, does that mean he didn't dive, either? :p

Admittedly haven't seen any footage on YouTube so can't say he did spit on Ballack, but to use that kinda stuff as evidence to the contrary just seems naive at best.

Arsenal v Villareal
Man U v Porto
Liverpool v Chelsea, Oh no. not again, ffs
Barcelona v Bayern Munich

Interesting stuff apart from the horrific Chelsea liverpool match which are always crap.

Arse, Man U drawn to meet in the semis too. The better half of the draw you'd think.

Thought the second leg of the Chelsea-Liverpool tie was pretty good last year tbh.

Anyway, I think we're all more interested in the impending Wafer Cup draw.

Deadset cannot believe Liverpool v Chelsea again...

I'll be very, very disappointed if we can't get past Porto and I imagine Arsenal are feeling the same about Villareal - though I'd call that a slightly tougher draw. Three PL teams in the semis again for mine and while you'd back Barca to join them, I think Bayern could spring a surprise.

Considering they won their group, Inter was by far the worst possible draw in the second round.

Porto followed by Villareal or Arsenal was probably the best scenario imaginable.

Inter didn't win their group, unless you're referring to United. Even then, didn't Real finish 2nd in their group as well? Played gash against 'p00l but still a better side than Inter.

Hmm I was hoping the second leg of the Liverpool v Chelsea match would be on ITV, but since that'll be on the Tuesday I guess it'll be the 0-0 borefest first leg on ITV instead.

The most important draw today has been done:

Hamburg vs. Manchester City
Paris Saint Germain vs. Dynamo Kiev
Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Marseille
Werder Bremen vs. Udinese

No easy games, would've liked to have faced PSG as I may have a chance of seeing Kezman play (however slight that chance is). Glad we avoided Werder as IMO they're the most dangerous team left, though Hamburg are no pushovers and will probably account for us (hopefully not).

Nah DWTA. Inter have been completely and utterly dominant at home for years now. Better players, too.

I think the fact that no-one at Bayern or anyone in the German press reported it is a good start.

Also, Phillipe Auclair a France Football writer spoke to the Bayern press officer who said that Ballack said it was just words at the time. So I can safely say there was nothing there and having viewed at the thing his mouth moved so ridiculously fast so many times I really doubt he intentionally spat at him. So this "evidence" that is being bandied around is a pile of horse ****. :)

Won two legit Serie A titles in a row TBF, and probably a 3rd as well. But yeah we're gash in the European Cup, a lot of it down to a lack of confidence.
Winning Serie A hasn't been a massively impressive feat recently. Milan have been gash for a while now, Juve were still rebuilding and really only Roma were contenders to the throne over the last few years. Fior, Lazio etc are good sides but not Champions material and were never going to get there.

I really thought you'd improve in Europe under Mourinho but apart from 45 minutes over 2 legs of football, it was same old Inter. It certainly was a tough draw against the world's best side but Inter's squad is seriously impressive, and very deep and they still couldn't muster much of a challenge.

Good news for Manure and Chelski about Benitez signing a contract earlier this week. That pretty much guarantees the Premiership is a two horse race for the next few seasons.
