*Official* English Football Season 2008-2009

Trying to figure out who's the bigger ****, MGP or Diouf. Tough one.
Diouf, by miles. Pedersen's was just a little grubby bit of cheating; Diouf's challenge was a potential (and quite possibly deliberate) leg-breaker. Almunia was lucky he walked away from it. A straight red if ever there was one.

Really entertaining game yesterday. It wasn’t great football but Torres was awesome once again. Mid-week against Madrid he was imperious but yesterday he made Vidic look village. Saw Man U play 3 times in the past week and they have defended dreadfully, Inter had so many chances on Wednesday night it was unreal. Still win the league though.

Stopped watching Rovers after two minutes yesterday. I couldn’t give a ****; the win in the week was good enough.

We won't have Vidic for a few games now. **** happens when you're most-important-player-by-far has a shocker (his only bad game in living memory, mind), but it sucks that he's got himself suspended too.

I didn't have a clue how to feel about the match today.
I didn't want either team to win, for different reasons.
A blog I read said that it was a win-win-win situation though "I spose the best way to look at today’s game is as a win-win-win. Spurs win, we win: Villa have lost. Villa win, we win: Spurs have lost. Draw, we win: they’ve both dropped points."
On that basis I guess we won today :p

Diouf easily. As a Blackburn supporter I don't even like him. For a player that scored one of the most important goals of our season earlier in the week against Fulham that's a big call. I'm surprised he hasn't been sent off twice these last 3 games. If his attitude wasn't so rubbish, he'd be a great player though. Works his tail off, and gives us the quality we need on the right. So frustrating.

When I saw that MGP incident the first time I thought he merely lost his footing, but that gif makes it look terrible. Frustrating to see Sir Alex be proved right. (although I still think the Man U one was a penalty )

This thread has been lively over the weekend, no mention of the real result though? Come on you whites, for the first time in a long long time we are hitting form at the business end of the season, playing some good footy and into the top six. Woohoo! :D

Turns out he'll only be suspended for one match rather than three as he was sent off for a professional foul rather than violent conduct. Small mercies.

I think we have to write that one off as a bad day in the office - we were gash and got what we deserved, though 4-1 was taking the piss a little I felt. We just didn't seem up for it, which is in itself ridiculous given we were at home against our fiercest rivals who'd beaten us earlier in the season. You just can't legislate against a guy like Vidic having a day like that. Though it would have been nice if any one of our front three had stepped up to even half the level of Torres or Stevie G.

Heard on the wireless it is two as it is the second time this season Vidic has seen red.

Been following United since the mid 70s, but I don't see as much of the games now as I did say 5 or 10 years ago. I watched Saturday night, and I just want to know who this Anderson muppet is?

Seriously not up to Man U standard IMHO. I know it's only one game and whatever, but the b loke looked ****ing clueless. Couldn't hit an elephant in the arse with a 12 gauge, such was the inaccuracy of his passing.

Anderson's a quality prospect. Can't shoot but he pwned Gerrard and Fabregas last season.

Update for you all RE mine and dav's season-long avatar bet:

As things currently stand, I would get to pick dav's avatar for a week. Rumours as to why there have been no updates before now throughout the season won't be welcomed, but Oldham will be looking for a new manager.

Yeah agree with this - big fan of Anderson. Strong, dynamic and with a great engine. Still has to develop and mature but I think he's got a huge future.

He does, however, have the worst shot I think I've ever seen.

Word on the street is that someone lost to the bottom of the league tonight
It's a marathon, not a sprint

Our away form is shocking. Nonetheless, I said 6 more wins will do it, and I stand by it, we will do it.

Wonderful display of sour grapes from Phil Brown. Once a Notlob ****...

Be almost funny when City, Hull go down now.
Phil Brown has always been a ****, let's be honest
