He was more physical than Song and Denilson.
He wasn't particlularly easily pushed off of the ball, was a strong dribbler and tackler.
He was never in the physical mould of Essien or Viera etc etc.... But used what he had to his advantage,

If he really was tugged, it begs the question why he fell forwards.
It doesn't work like that. His momentum was already taking him forwards and the tug set him off balance. It would have to be a big, hardcore, ****-off pull on the shirt if it would cause him to fall backwards when he was running.

That goal came from a corner that never was tbf, so justice was done, albeit unintentionally.
Haha i don't believe that though. You can't trace incidents back to the previous injustice against a particular team, else you could start saying, "well yes he scored from it, and yes it was a definite free kick, however the free kick was won from a throw-in that should have gone the other way."

If someone tugged me whilst I was running, I can't imagine I'd fall forwards. If I tripped as a result of being tugged then it might happen but UIMM he didn't.

In any case, the fall just looked massively contrived.

Scoring from a corner that never was is exactly the same as scoring from a penalty that never was. No difference at all.

Fact is it should never have been a corner to us yesterday, and without that corner the goal couldn't have happened anyway, so yes, justice was done IMO. Don't see any logic that could say that it wasn't.

Yeah, very much so. If he'd fallen like a normal person as opposed to doing a ridiculous swan-dive maybe he'd have gotten the penalty.

BARNES OUT
Stephen Ireland really should have buried that chance. At least it's still 0-0.

Wish we'd stop hoicking long balls up to the shortest front line going, is pretty much useless and begging the ball to come back. We've been doing it all season, especially away from home, and look where it's gotten us. If Hughes wants them to play like that, start Caicedo.

Norwood's on Fire
Love Ryan Taylor so much, makes me want to see Newcastle do well, although obviously I am cheering for them big time today anyway. Reckon this will be a good game.

On an aside, does anyone know why Liverpool and Citeh are playing today? I got up this morning and presumed that that was the early Sky Sports game but was treated to Fulham-WBA instead, what's the deal?
