*Official* English Football Season 2008-2009

Went to watch Cambridge City yesterday. First half was possibly the worst forty five minutes of football I've seen, but this was mitigated by a ninety third minute winner for the home team right in front of where I stood. Given the attendance was 262 there's a fairly sporting chance I might get to see myself on the video clip when their site gets around to being updated.

In other news: Arsenal, **** off, eh? You can't beat Sunderland at home you don't deserve to be in the Champions League.

Was very good in the first half, I went to bed at halfy though. Was unlucky not to have a goal, had two very good attempt. The second with his left foot and drew a really good save.

Yeah that was a cracking strike, he looked excellent all the time he was on IMO. Him and Van Persie looked like the only people who gave two ****s about winning. Bentdner (sp?) was a disgrace, you hear him talking all this rubbish in the press about how he thinks he is better than Arshavin and then goes and plays like a complete moron in the next game.

I'm an Arsenal fan.
Bendtner should've been sold in the summer.
Before they were taken over City were linked with making a £5-7m offer, I would've bitten their hand of.
Unless he bucks up his ideas between now and the end of the season he should be on his way out of the door. Vela looks a much better prospect.
I mean the chances his missed in the FA Cup replay against Cardiff were dreadful. I honestly feel I could've done better.
Battle on for 4th place now!

They're completely different players though. If you sell Bendtner you need to replace him with another big man because Ade goes down every second week.

Bendtner doesn't really do a job as a big front man though does he?
I'd feel that any combination of RVP, Adebayor, Eduardo, Vela and then if we do buy another striker would easily do as well, and more often than not better than anyoneof those players + bendtner.
When he plays he doesn't offer much.
Vea's disadvantage in height is smaller than his advantage in pace and creativity.

Yeah he small, quick and good on the ball. But you have 900 of those players. In fact, they're pretty much your whole midfield. I don't rate Bendtner but he's not as bad as Arsenal fans seem to think he is.

Anyway, to the more important issue. Wayne Bridge has to be kicked to the reserves. He has been the biggest disappointment of the season for me, has been consistently beaten in every single game in a City shirt and shipped so many goals off of his own back it's ridiculous.

I'd agree with the statement about our midfield.
Of the days of Vieira, Petit, Adams being the bedrock of the team, complimented by Overmars, Anelka etc.
Now every players has to quick (enough) agile, competent on the ball etc etc.
We proved you can have the best of both worlds with Flamini, but we do need to bring in some tank in midfield who can just win the ball and then release the likes of Fabregas, Nasri, Walcott, RVP, Rosicky, Arshavin

Flamini was hardly physical. He was more in the Xavi Alonso mould of player than the Patrick Vieira all-rounder.

More to the point, c'mon Citeh!

Stuffed if I know how Blackburn didn't get a penalty when Pedersen was brought down in the box.
If he really was tugged, it begs the question why he fell forwards.

There was (very slight) contact, no way it was a penalty for me though.

Pedersen should have been booked, just as Ronaldo (rightly) was.
