It can't be annulled unless it's deemed to not be worthy of any card, AFAIK. Even if you disagree that it was a red, you cannot contest that it wasn't a yellow.

Are you sure about that? I always thoughy you couldhave a red downgraded to a yellow, it's just that you can't have yellows appealed unless they are a second yellow in a match or a 5th, 10th etc in a season (ie the one that gets you banned). Unsure now though

Think Smith is right, have always been under the impression that a red card cannot be rescinded unless it can be proved that no card should have been issued in the first place, not sure I agree with the rule, but iirc that's how it works.

Yeah I'm very sure. As it turns out, goal.com also agrees with me, as I just read their article about this and they said the same thing.

Fair enough, now that I think of it the only time I can think of a red being taken off a player from my team was when the ref sent off the wrong player, so the ban was transferred. Perhaps that's why Goodison's ban wasn't revoked last january, thought the ***** at the FA added a match on, presumably thinking it to be frivolous, the wankers

Terry's ban totally rescinded, pretty crap decision imo. If he played for a club outside the top 4 there is no way he would have ever gotten off imo, stupid FA.

Tottenham in another season of being ****e shocker. Had a discussion in work today, consensus was that they are the second biggest joke in the Premiership, after Newcastle
Wonder what Martin Jol makes of it all? Perched atop the Bundesliga with Hamburg as he currently is. Bravo Levy, you've done it again.

Never less than laugh out loud funny, yer Spurts.

Don't much rate Marseille's defence, build up to and the conceding of the penalty for the second goal was crap imo, looks quite decent going forward though.

Gerrard scored a fairly decent first one, to be fair. Liverpool don't really deserve to win this, IMHO.

In the other English match, Chelsea take off Deco and bring on Ballack, ho-hum....
