Not gonna come out in support of someone accused of rape...let's hope he didn't do it, however

From what I know about the young man it'd be highly unlikely for him to rape someone. Not out of the realm of possibility though.

Ok then think what you want to. There are a couple Man Utd players I could see being involved in wrongdoing and they'd be rightly jailed. I don't see everything in shades of red.

then by all means, please tell me of these players who are potentially naughty, and tell me why you think this.

The fact that Neville and Scholes were at the party says it's all fine. Very big family-loving, non-media types there that have a pretty immaculate record when it comes to "hobbies outside of football". I'd be shocked if they would let a young guy ruin his international (let alone United) career so obliviously.

If it was a Ronaldo + Nani + Anderson party I'd probably be a touch more concerned. :p Luckily for those three, though, they keep receipts. *cough*

Guys like Ronaldo, Rooney and maybe Ferdinand. Ferdinand's a troublemaker. Rooney and Ronaldo are young and are known to cause a stir. Don't know about the new guys and Hargreaves seems too mature for rowdiness.

Was arguing this point with a friend yesterday, want to see if people agree with me or not. Who deserves to win a game more? The team who had more possession, more shots, and had more control of the game, but failed to score... or the team who had less possession, less shots, spent more time in their own half than the oppositions, but managed to score a goal.

IMO, its the team who actually won. They made the most of their chances, however limited. The other team may have had more chances, but they weren't good enough to take them, and therefore, don't deserve to win the match. For an actual example, take the Liverpool/United game from last week (this is the game which started the argument, he's a Liverpool supporter). He claimed Liverpool deserved to win because they played "better football", But the fact is, they couldn't score, and didn't deserve to win.

Opinions?

Yeah I agree with you completely, barring any huge refereeing mistake or something else completely out of the players control if you deserve to win you generally will.

thats entirely speculative, you still havent given any real reasons at all for your argument.

CL draw.

Arsenal have got Milan, that will be very difficult whatever Milan's league position as they're focussing almost entirely on the CL.

Scousers have got Inter, another difficult tie, unfortunately I can see the Scousers shading it.

Chelsea have got Olympiakos, that should be easy enough.

United have got Lyon, about as difficult as it could have got really, however I make us about 80/20 favourites.

Celtic have got Barca, highly unlikely that they'll get through there.

My predictions:

The draw in full:
Celtic v Barcelona
Lyon v Manchester United
Schalke v Porto
Liverpool v Inter
Roma v Real Madrid
Arsenal v Milan
Olympiacos v Chelsea
Fenerbahce v Sevilla

Inter has been in pretty good form all season by being unbeaten in Serie A are 7 points clear of Roma, despite having almost an entire midfield out injured (Stankovic, Figo, Vieria, Dacourt, Jimenez has had a few knocks) and the striking force probably has the depth in Europe, or if not, one of the best. Plus playing away from home first is an advantage IMO.

Sevilla have been dire this season, and Fenerbahce are tough at home, Real Madrid should be too strong for Roma, Arsenal and Milan is a toughie as I want Arsenal to go through, I would tip them especially if the first leg was at the San Siro instead. Manchester United > Lyon, Barcelona way too strong for Celtic on paper, but then Celtic did beat Milan at Parkhead and when they played in the UEFA Cup in 03/04 they got through, so it is not though are at thousands already and remember football is not played on paper. Chelsea too strong for Olympiacos and I wasn't sure of Schalke and Porto so I just choose Schalke.

quite happy with Arsenal's draw tbh, pressure is off, regardless of what happens the dissapointment of going out to a soft side last year will not be repeated.

Interesting ties from a British perspective and aside from Man U and Chelsea who should both waltz through, the Arsenal, Liverpool and Celtic games should be top class on the entertainment front.

Fulham sack Lawrie Sanchez. Perhaps quiting Northern Ireland wasn't the smartest of ideas now was it?

fairly stupid if you ask me, they were doing as much as can be expected of a team of their stature, it seems that the board are of the opinion that the team should be higher up the table, which is pretty stupid if you ask me, not that lawrie sanchez had done a great job, but must say I didnt think he would have been in danger of getting the sack.
