nah they have always had potential over the years & they seem like quarter-finals, i can't see them winning especially since they have lost Diarra.
Mahamadou might have gone but now they have Alou Diarra...

As it's Steds, it could well be a joke, but the of in his name means or apparently, from when two people from aristocratic backgrounds married and couldn't decide which name to use
Yeah because Vennegor of Hesselink is supposed to mean Vennegor or Hesselink in Dutch. However I can master a few other languages, except Dutch.

id like to know why hes all of a sudden become a goal scoring machine?!?!
i guess playing with the great Jefferson Farfan would hurt anyones goal tally...

I woulnd't go that far. We can be sure however that Arsenal won't.
Can we? As was shown last year the current Arsenal side is far better suited the champions league than they are to the premiership. The team this year is no worse than the one that reached the final last year so how can we be sure that Arsenal wont win it this year?

Re Fabregas and the 8 year contract - I thought the rules only allowed a maximum of five years nowadays?

The CDMs were lucky to get past the group stage last year, they were also lucky to get the first goal on virtually if not every occasion in a KO tie because that's exactly how their team was setup - to defend.

It will be a lot more difficult for them this year, they can't sneak through unnoticed again like last year.

some big games this week, in what every one calls the big 4

Chelsea v Liverpool

MAn utd v Arsenal

it wouldnt suprise me if there where upsets this weekend with those 2 games, man utd a playing good football and after liverpools poor performance against everton in the meryside showdown last week they can only improve and will have to away to chelsea. i can funny enough say i think liverpool will come away with the points this weekend.

Now way, United will beat Arsenal if they lose they need lashes..

na i think man utd will win but after previous encounters that i have seen between the two it wouldnt suprise me and arsenal have to start playing good sooner rather than later.

5 straight wins & a nil-nil when we'd already qualified. Jammy as hell, clearly.

Never mind I was thinking of the season before last, with them getting comically easy groups both times it's easy to mix them up.

No, but as you were also not really around at the time, I'll get you to check out the way Fowler did against Arsenal...
I'm not downtalking Fowler, I'm just getting increasingly irritated by you putting words into his mouth (particularly about Arsenal).

EDIT: typo

Got to expect Manchester United to win, they have had the clear upper hand over Arsenal in the last couple of years. Liverpool and Chelsea matches are normaly increadibly dull with Liverpool playing very negativly. I expect them to do the same but i think Chelsea will win it 1 or 2-0

anything other than a man utd win will come as a surprise to me as an arsenal fan...still i'm optimistic that arsenal can come away with a result, but i dont think its very likely.

What's your problem with them, then?
The Cambridge connection I would have thought.

I have mates who live in Cambridge and Whittleseas and neither support any local side really, but one thing unites them.......a severe hatred of all things Peterboro'.
