Yeah, he did - I've seen a picture of him with an England shirt on aged 16 or so. I'll try and dig it out when I have a bit more time.
Giggs played for England Schools as Ryan Wilson, i assume that's what Marc is talking about

Even if you ignore his rebuilding phase, his titles to seasons ratio is about 1:2, that's starting around 90, whereas Paisley's is 2:3. Of course, the best way to judge them will be when Ferguson retires. I can't see his legacy lasting the same way Paisley's did, I honestly can't.
Ferguson had not completely rebuilt the side by 1990. By the summer of 1991 is far morw accurate.

beat me to it, not like chelsea didnt have home a home grown player in their side either, even those that werent home grown so to speak were developed in london.
Did I say home-grown? No.

And producing them out of your own youth system is entirely different.

No, he definitely is Welsh, hence his never being eligible to play for England.
What utter rubbish.

He was eligible - he chose not to play for England and went for Wales instead.

It was yes - didn't think I was the only person who'd know that.

Yes, he wanted to play for Wales because he is Welsh. He wouldn't swap any amount of World Cup appearances for the sake of turning his back on his country.

Yes he would have been a top player for England, but then again so would Diego Maradona, I don't quite see your point Aussie, the guy is Welsh. Yes Welsh cricketers can play for England, but :

a-Cricket is a different game to football, with different rules
b-In Cricket, Wales doesn't have its own international side, or at least not a fully afilliated one. Instead it is part of the ECB. In Football, Wales is a separate entity. It has its own team. If Welsh players were to play for England they would have to cease having a football team of their own, and that'd leave pretty much every Welshman of the last 15 years, except Giggs, and Ben Thatcher, with no international football career.

That's the former England Under-21 captain, Ben Thatcher? He's about as Welsh as Vinnie Jones...

Neill offered a new four-year deal at Blackburn. Apparently being chased by Barcelona.

Rumour has it AC are interested in Emerton as well
Is there a player Milan are not interested in ATM? They wanted me but I told them I coud never play for Milan unlike other certain former players...

They are as bad (or now) worse then Inter, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Liverpool etc.

If Emile Heskey, Kevin Phillips, Francis Jeffers and quite a few others can play for England then I think Craig Bellamy and possibily (not saying that he is but it wouldn't surprise me under Eriksson or any other sorry excuse England has had for a manager) John Hartson would have got a few games.

Fine. Strike off one FA Cup, and one Cup-Winners' Cup from the record AND Paisley's ratio is still better.

Way to worsen your own cause :)

Yep. Absolute scumbag he is, kept Gareth Roberts out the Welsh side for a while, that'd **** me off that, if I was a Welsh left-back (well actually I could just end that sentence now) and there was a rather crap English one keeping me out the Wales team.

Bellamy fair enough, but Hartson is never ever even nearly good enough to wear an England shirt. No chance.

Compared to the others who managed to get a gig with England in the strikers role? Some of them are probably no better IMO.

Maybe, maybe not, but Hartson played in Scotland, and area Sven's not too familiar with (lucky swine*), and when we had no left-wingers, he gave Alan "scumbag" Thompson just one chance to prove his worth, I doubt he'd have even bothered with the Ginger thug

*I have only ever been to Scotland once and had a lovely time. My commetns are completely unnecessary. yet I refuse to delete them! Get me!
